Pour one out for one of the all time great UGA bloggers. This really sucks.

A phenomenal fan blogger that provided quality writing for nearly 2 decades. Feels like I’ve lost a close friend.

RIP, Bluto.

If I knew where his family lived, I'd stop by to drop off a bucket of fried chicken and a case of beer.

He was the best there ever was.

And now there are none.

So he has been here, just in hiding from his scorching hot takes.

We all gotta go some time. He got to see Back2Back chips and UGA become the #1 program in the country.

There's more to life than football, but as far as this community is concerned that's something to smile about.

Sad to hear this...

Imma 70 and lived to see the mess that CFB has become. That's just my opinion and most younger than me disagree with that point of view...

But to each his own, the Senator was often a calming force in the storm he saw coming (he was a lawyer I think) and realized that NIL and the portal was inevitable...

Enjoyed his measured and rational thoughts on where CFB was headed...

RIP Blutarsky...

You know how I feel you grew up in the South?

Would this not be acceptable in other regions of the country, or the world? I understand the beer would be frowned upon in Muslim countries, but aside from that, isn't that what everyone wants when they are bereaved?

Not in my experience.

Bucket of Chicken + Case of Beer seems to always be Southern. I did this for a friend living across the Ohio Ocean and got the WTF stare from some of his people.

To be fair, old school would be shine + beaten biscuits + country ham

I don't believe this to be true, as presented. There must be more to the story.

I simply can't believe that you showed up to a friend's wake with fried chicken and a case of beer and people gave you a side eye. I don't believe that happened.

The family was not Irish.

They were sort of white bread WASP types.

My experience is if they had been Irish my welcome would have been warm followed by 2 weeks of heavy drinking, some fights, some sex, and lots of bad singing.

He had a pretentious writing style and terrible taste in music.

Didn't care for him and his pro LGBTQ nazi style. 15 years or so ago he issued an edict that in effect stated any comments that were seen as critical to the LGBTQ agenda would result in an instant and permanent ban. I replied I would save him the trouble. Deleted my account and never returned. Looking back I don't regret a thing. I'm doubtful he can make the same statement.
