I think those rumors are falsely reported. Now I don't know if it's him falsely reporting them, (he's got a history,) but it's probably just falsely reported.

Based on what seems to be a conscious move towards high character players, perhaps he is politely being shown the door.

The kid is a player. he would be ideal in an Hback / slot role. the kid knows how to bring down the football.

not doubting that he can play but he isnt beating out Artie Lynch or Jay Rome this year, Rome next year, and will probably fight an unsuccessful battle with RB the year after that...may show up in 2 TE sets in his last season, thats about it.

I know depth never hurts but, exactly how many TE do we need on the depth chart?

CMR tends to take the high road when it comes to letting kids find the door on their own.

Pretend Lynch just went out for the season and Rome pulled a hamstring, then answer your own question.

He is a different player than Lynch and Rome.
He is no where near the close and tight blocker that they are. and neither of them are playmakers to his ability.

If he was another jay rome, i would agree... what's the big deal.
But he's a different athlete.

We'll be OK with Lynch, Rome, Davis , and Trolinger (a walk-on that I really like; we won best TE at several camps with big name TE's in attendance and chose to walk-on at UGA over a scholarship at smaller D-1 schools). However, he needs to be back next year or we need to bring in another TE in this class to have depth for '14.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to go back after Milan Richard. Everything he said upon committing to Clemson hinged on our taking only 1 TE. He let Dabo get in his head and pulled the trigger early, otherwise his recruitment would still be wide open, since he wasn't supposed to announce for another 2 weeks.
