but you said "the writing is on the wall" so what exactly does that mean? That's typically when leaders start to make changes

Leaders do not make changes for the sake of change..... they evaluate a situation with the evidence they have available and when the time comes, if it does, they make a change. I’d say a SEC title and a national championship game in 2 years is reasonable. Or merely winning against less talented teams for another 5, which is what we will most likely do. Making excuses is not something leaders do

I will believe everything you say, I am 100% a sheeple. I also have seen this corroborated on Rivals.

And none of it gives me any faith in the program right now. Because either they are putting out some ROUGH observations or JT Daniels is a puddle of shite because what I have seen trot out there CANNOT be an insurmountable bar.

The project that hasn’t played contact football since spring of 2019? My point stands. Your expectations were way off.

One way to look at it: if there was a good year to have a bad season, it might as well be this season because this entire year in sports is going to have asterisk beside it. What worries me is I believe the lives of the citizens of every 1st world nation has been changed forever by what China did and not one damn thing will be done about it because all of those nations are so heavily invested in China.

I get the frustration. We're lucky to have a season to be frustrated about.

What about any of this is not Kirbys decision making????

Foo summed it up very well:

quote:

How so? We had an elite backup and potential future of our program jet out because the transfer portal turned into a Santa Clause, distributing gifts of eligibility left and right. We had a potential backup of Mathis have an unexpected brain surgery months after arriving on campus and causing him to miss a year of development. We had our starting QB leave a season early, throwing a wrench into everything with Mathis out. We then picked up an excellent transfer QB who was a great fit for our new offensive direction and who subsequently quit weeks before the first game. We picked up Daniels as a backup but he was still recovering from his injury and has missed a year of development, as well.

And your take on the other positions is also off in one way or another.

Excellent post, Foo, and it is good to see lucid insight from DJS.
We had a perfect storm of uncanny bad luck this season and as I said in another post, it might as well be the season of Covid-2020 which has screwed up all sports and many lives in general.

Thanks, China. I hope your leaders die in a fire.

I think it’s see if Daniels is healthy and ride into 2021 or if Beck can prove he’s worth a competitive spot against Daniel/BVG next year imo. Jake pretty much gathered that today and it backs up which all of us have been saying all year. Newman was #1 and bolted... now we’re trying to frick with 2021 plans to accommodate this fricked up 2020 year in general/season.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

SIAP, but JTD took 1st team reps at practice today. Not sure how many or if anyone else got 1st team reps but JTD was with the 1s.

Also Pickens was there and with the 1st team

So this season is fricked anyway. Ride Bennett wherever he can go and look toward next season. Hell, it’s what we do best at UGA.

What’s a fair expectation next year with an unproven QB??? 10-2 and a citrus bowl? Maybe the Sugar? A fair expectation, not the stars aligning, which they could well do. Is that good enough in year 6?

We have improved in one sense. We have yet to have an inexplicable showing and loss like we have in 3 of the previous 4. Alabama was closer than the score looked and anyone shocked by our performance against UF is an idiot. The remains schedule looks like we should be spared a 2917 Auburn, 2018 LSU or 2019 USC loss where we just don’t show up.

Wow,so you fully expected Florida to score 38 pts in the 1st half and Kyle Trask to pass
for 341 yards and 4 TD's in the first 2 quarters?

I'm continually amazed by your powers to see into the future.
I would imagine you predicted the EXACT halftime score on here someplace, correct?

So lets hear your Missouri score or SC or MSU.

What's UF gonna do vs Arkansas?

Straight from the source

Remember barners started spreading rumors after last season that Pickens flunked out? Don't trust everything you see, folks.

Without rumors there’s a lot less discord with CFB. I don’t mind passing along what people have heard. Let us decide what to make of it.

When it's completely unfounded and about our own players?
GTFO

How'd you like about you as a sophomore in college? Plus, there's been COUNTLESS phoney rumors about this one particular kid that were all unfounded.

Being caught off guard (shocked) is not the same thing as knowing for certain. I don't think many UGA fans watched the UF and were dumb founded by our performance. If anyone thought Bennett was going to go 23 for 30, 300yards and 3 TDs they were an idiot.

Prior to the game I thought we had a punchers chance but also knew it was possible that we would get run out of the stadium by UFs offense and our inability to keep them off the field.

But I will go out on a limb and predict the future. It ain't hard. Bennet will struggle against Mizzoo and we win a close one. Score will be impacted by breaks and turnovers that will happen inevitably, one way or the other. The same is true of the rest of the schedule.

Were you shocked by our performance against UF? If so, in what way?

Those guys are available if you are a major power.

So, since we can't get them, it means we're not a major power. Thus, the best we can expect to get is castoffs and take-as-a-flyers. Which is pretty much what we've got, so why complain?
