Did you think the same thing about Mathis last week? How did that work out?

Yes. He wasn’t really any worse the Bennett has been.

Mathis was somehow much worse than Bennett had been. His passer rating was 47.

The frick he wasn't lol. Bennet can at least hit open dudes with 20 yards of the LOS. He also hangs in well under pressure. Dwsn is really really really bad right now.

We should be able to find a project or undersized guy that can play at a higher level after a year in the system (which both Mathis and Bennett have had). The bar is pretty fricking low.

Again, That’s not how it works. The type of qbs available at that point are the kind we signed.

Bennett has played pretty well overall despite his limitations. Who knows how the Florida game turns out if our wrs were available and Bennett didn’t get hurt. You also seem to forget that the project had brain surgery.

I mean the guy was 5/16 on Saturday and is throwing picks like it’s his job.

No argument from me, but Stetson is also.

There are a bunch of group of 5 QBs that are playing better football than what we have. Those guys are available if you are a major power.

What gives you that impression?

The kid is hurt. Has a limp. He isn’t good without a knee. Kirby isn’t gonna throw him under the bus.
Then why dress him out? Why "clear" him? Why continue to say he's getting reps at practice? How is that protecting JT?

Is it to appease the dumbest of fans?

Why would he stick around? Plenty of coaching staffs are confident in their freshmen and winning with them in recent years but we put him on a shelf in favor of the shitshow we saw Saturday? In a year no playing time counts?

Don’t know and don’t really care. You shouldn’t either.

Ok, let’s see your list of QBs available at the last minute before early enroll 2019.

Ark, auburn, Tennessee, first half bama, first td pass Florida

You talking about his year in the system as if he has been a normal healthy player.

You’re right. I’m sure UGA having a horrendous QB room was just unavoidable bad luck and couldn’t have been avoided or at least improved with better personnel decisions or player development.

Ok. I would expect a D1 scholarship QB with a year taking mental reps while recovering from a serious medical condition to play at a higher level if (1) he was actually evaluated appropriately and (2) QB development was even average.

Again, this is a low bar to clear.

It really was unavoidable. Bad circumstances often result in immediate struggles.

One of the best insiders on UGASports expects Pickens to play this weekend. FWIW

He was a project from the start. He was never highly rated. A healthy project takes years to see rewards. He wasn’t healthy and it’s not been years.

Depends on how you define rewards. I don’t expect an all-SEC player or anything but do expect some signs of promise that we have not seen.
