How so? Go through each QB and explain what the issue is.

Stetson is not a scholarship-level power 5 QB. That is not just my judgement. That is the judgment of every Power 5 coach except Smart when he was recruited out of both HS and JUCO.
Mathis is at best a significant project.
Daniels and Beck, for whatever reason, can’t beat out the two listed above. Either they really suck, or Kirby is a really poor judge of talent.
It’s the worst position group on UGA’s team by a massive margin.

How did you forget why Kirby had to sign those guys? They were best possible pulls for our needs at the times.

No way he can be worse than Bennett or Dwan.
I’d at least like to see him on the field so the Dawg nation can see with our own eyes whether he’s trash or not. .

So, being devil's advocate, he is either a poor judge of talent or a poor developer of talent?

Neither.

It calls everything into question. Our ability to evaluate talent, develop talent and build and offense around that talent.

I still say either he wasn't really healthy enough for the AU game and Kirby was just messing with Gus or Daniels side hasn't cleared him to play. But I also don't see how he can be healthy enough to run the scout team but not play in a game.

What color jersey is he wearing and is he taking hits?

I assume QBs are non contact in practice.

That I don't know.

I depends on the school. I'm not sure how UGA runs thiers.

Scout team QBs will take contact. Especially when prepping for an option team or mobile QB. Not all QBs will

Rumor I read was JT still walks with a noticeable limp and who know when he will be right again

No, they weren’t. College football is full of way better QBs that were very gettable for UGA.

Maybe you forgot the time line. The options were extremely limited at the time.

I remember the timeline. I am not advocating firing Kirby or anything close to that, but it is his job to manage the roster, even through adverse circumstances, both self-created and not. He’s done a mostly great job of that but has objectively failed at the QB position.
In terms of the timeline, I am quite sure they could have found better options than Bennett and Mathis even on a limited timeline with better (or less lazy) evaluations. Bennett in particular reeks of a lazy evaluation process. “Oh, we know this guy. Let’s just sign him instead of searching more for a better option.”

It's as if you are implying that Kirby rested on his laurels with Bennett and Mathis, when in fact he went out and got the #1 and #2 QB's in the transfer portal and signed Carson Beck.

With the extremely limited timeline, the options were also extremely limited. We were fortunate to get what we got. A lazier crappier coach likely does much worse than that.
