To be fair, McGarity very realistically could have said that while fully supporting Richt. The man just has the PR savvy of a skinned grape

He also could have ignored it and not responded.

Would have been a lot worse than what he said. Ignoring reporters (especially long-tenured douchebags like Schultz at fish wrappers like the AJC) is a good way to give them license to interpret your silence any way they see fit

Schultz gave him an out letting him know that a no comment type response would cause more speculation. He gets tons of emails and those guys don't expect a 100% response rate. What is Schultz going to write? 'UGA AD Greg McGarity didn't return my email, Richt's future in Jeopardy'

I would assume any decision would not be made based on any one game, but an accumulation of games over a period of several years with this game being the final straw.
Someone obviously wanted McGarity to determine Bulldog future or he wouldn't be in the AD position. What do you think?

As we all know, the old timers, the wealthy donors of Georgia cannot stand Georgia Tech. It is almost a certainty that Richt is gone if he loses tomorrow.

I could completely understand CMR retiring. He doesn't look like he's having much fun anymore, he's dealing with asinine fans and ruthless competition and they're not winning games anymore. It's not like he needs the money.

Of course, this could all be be bullshite...but if it's not....then it looks like the rubber is about to hit the road. Lets hope MCGarity has his shite together or we could be wandering the wilderness....

What he responded with was worse than not responding. He looked Schultz in the eye and said, "speculate"

I hope we're not rolling the dice with Pruitt as HC. If we are, he better be dusting off his Rolodex of people that know offense...

Considering Pruitt already tried to kick Schottenheimers arse, he would be the first fired.

If this is really the end, it's hard to remember what it's like not to have Richt on the sideline

For goodness sakes, don't let it be Lilly. Hiring Lilly means you just hired an even less qualified Mark Richt.
