He absolutely should not come back. I can’t imagine that’s the advice he’s getting from Kirby

He will just pay the lease and let some teammates live there rent free causing an ncaa investigation over players accepting gifts.

I love Peter Buck's post so much. My mind is either blown, or I want to cry over that truth bomb.

Well done sir

He'd be an idiot to. Financially it's stupid. There would be no benefit to him. Dude is going to be the first ILB taken and a top 15 pick lock and key. Bye

He's not returning. Most of the smoke here is because he signed a lease. As if he can't get out of that with his NFL money lol

A lease in Athens, its peanuts to live there anyways.

I paid $310/month in rent.

To get out of a lease, you lose the security deposit, so he may be out 300-400 bucks. Who the hell cares.

No risk for him to come back ... Unless he has a serious injury. I love the guy and want him to stay but that is selfish on my part. He would be wise to move on, get drafted in the first round and put that money in the bank and start investing it. His NFL Career won't last long in terms of his entire life span and he needs to make as much money for as long as he can.

Also, football at the pro and college level is a meat grinder. As such it is not accurate to think that he will play the same number of years in the NFL if he enters the league a year later. He may never play that last additional year that he gave up to play another year in college and that could cost him millions. Financially, it would just be an unwise decision. Emotionally I can understand the logic. Financially I cannot.

He would have to snap his spinal chord in half and even then I believe he could tie it back together and still be a beast.

Who was that Running Back for SC that was supposed to be a first round pick and then had those Knee injuries? What happened to his NFL Career?

There's plenty of risk and no upside. He's not going to improve his draft stock, because he'll be a top 10 pick at worst. So there's no benefit to coming back other than he loves being at UGA and playing there.

The risks are two fold. He could sustain an injury or he could have a bad year, or at least a worse year than he had this year. Both would damage his draft stock, not improve it.

I'd love nothing more than to watch Roquan play at UGA one more year, but he needs to go.

The insurance covers a lot of losses for the initial contract. But it doesn't make up for career losses if the player doesn't get back to an NFL level.

I know I’m just kidding...I still don’t see Roquan losing his first round draft status unless it was just a terrible injury.

I agree, he should go but he is a freak enough of an athlete that if he waited his money would still be there.

Yeah, his career is toast. I still remember that day. We beat #2 Florida later on that afternoon.

It would be stupid for him to come back. Financially, you'd have to factor in the first year he's in the NFL (that we are questioning), on top of his risk of being injured.

He wasn't an UDFA. He suffered a season ending injury in his Sophomore year and then major one his Junior year. He didnt play his Senior year as he entered into the draft.

I don't want him to come back, really. It's a good thing sending first round picks into the league when they are ready. It's why you recruit highly. It's an important cycle and they work together. Good players come, and leave. Good players come to replace them because they want to be them. I mean I want him to come back. But I really don't because that's selfish. He has done nothing wrong in his time at UGA so I presume he is a good person. He has been our best player this season. Our playoff and SEC championship season. He deserves what's next.

When you hear him talk he seems highly intelligent, to have a strong sense of identity, to to have great character.
