Offense:

Mathis threw and ran like any other quarterback

The wide receivers started the practice catching 10-yard dig routes from Jake Fromm, Mathis and others. Tyler Simmons and Lawrence Cager represented the drill’s first team, with Matt Landers and Tommy Bush going second. Freshman George Pickens, wearing the number 83 despite being listed as one, worked with the third group with fellow freshman Makiya Tongue.

Freshman Dominick Blaylock worked with the slot receivers.

Following running back D’Andre Swift in drills were Brian Herrien, James Cook and Zamir White. (I personally would like to know more on White)

Defense:

Julian Rochester worked with the defensive line. The inside linebackers worked on pass coverage during the open period, and the outside linebackers worked on rushing the passer.

Not much this week but at least its football!!!

Can't copy paste premium content here so will try to give the gist of updates that I've seen..

QB: Fromm notably seemed to have more pep/zip on his delivery. Looked great delivering the ball downfield, to the outside with more oomph, and even middle of the field giving Cager among other receivers an opportunity to burst upfield.

Stetson and Mathis both much less polished. A lot of balls off the mark. Not too many dropped balls, which is probably more a great sign for our receivers than any sort of positive on the first outing for our backup QB options.

RB: Zamir running with no braces, no limp, cutting aggressively. If there's any slight critique on first glance is that he looks a little lean... To be expected from the extended period off and lengthy rehab process.

McIntosh looked a little leaner than 218-220, but if you see the pictures, it's in a good way... He looks shredded. Seemed natural catching the ball.

Herrien... Looks ready to rock.

WR: Lots of good things. Drob and Pickens flashed some impressive sideline grabs. Blount with some tricky grabs crib the backup QBs showed great body control. Cager flashed a huge catch radius... Dom with great quickness and Tongue with great long speed.

TE: No surprise, but Woerner looked a cut above everyone. Very strong and focused look about him this year... But as a receiving threat but also in blocking drills. Great early reviews on Wolf... Looks maybe a little thin though. Fitz body looks transformed. Goede healthy and participating but also looks a little lean.

OL: Cade Mays got some looks at Center. No telling if there is anything worth noting there. (personal guess is just Pittman cross training him to be the complete Swiss Army knife)...

First team was what we'd expect for camp opening... Thomas and Wilson on the outside. Hill at Center. Kindly and Cleveland manning the guard spots.

Xavier Truss looked like a stud. Should be a good sign for life after Thomas and Wilson.

DL: David Marshall hit a dude so hard during a blocking drill that the unnamed DL had to stop, step back, and dropped a four letter bomb.

Logue and Mitchell looked great for freshmen. Getting their bodies right. (Norton looked lean to me from pictures.) Travon unsurprisingly looks athletic as hell. Jordan Davis looks like he's back at his healthy weight from last year, so any off season trouble seems to be behind him.

ILB: Tae and Monty led the way. Quay and Tindall operating at second team, but Dean got some of those reps too. Marshall and Dean both freaky fast/agile. Davis maybe lagging a little bit but it's early yet.

OLB: Stud. City.

I'll try to post it later but Azeez looks like a monster. He's put on good weight and, to quote Kirby, "he wants to fricking eat!"

JJ, Cox, and Beal all operating at a high level. Adam Anderson still looks a little lean, but not too much to keep him off the field. He'll probably be a 3rd down specialist anyways. Nolan had some one on one time with Jarvis MF Jones, which should make every dawg happy. He's going to be a great one.

Star/Nickel: Webb - D Wilson - Poole in that order. Poole looked to have added some good upper body mass. It's a strong group. McGee not mentioned, which is probably for the best.

Safety: Lecounte and Reed with ones (no surprise). Otis Reese and Chris Smith retiring with the twos primarily. Best quote of the afternoon had to be "Otis Reese looked like was chiseled out of granite." Smith also looked notably beefed up, which he needed from last season where he played closer to 180. Cine also got some work with the 2s.

CB: Campbell and Daniel with some good reps jamming receivers at the line. Not a big deal, but Wilson with one bad rep against walk-on Ty James (keep his name in mind in the future... may earn a scholarship in year 3 if he doesn't transfer out).

Best I can do at summarizing without copy/paste.

The receiver news was certainly welcome hype. Especially since you just know reporters were looking to critique their play.

Similar for DL. If the freshmen are able to meaningfully contribute this year to depth on the DL, that's should be a good thing. We need health and depth there early to ensure the big Dawgs are good for the late season stretch of more challenging games.

Yeah. Fwiw, multiple reports from different insiders made the claim, but it's not in that video for sure. Clearly just some footwork drills...

Just superb shite to start the month off, thx. You can tell by the energy the upperclassmen are ultra focused being that some of them will have 1st round grades and this will be their last year to get it done.

Kirby is giving off the vibe to everyone this is the year. He can't go out and say it's the best team he's coached in 43 years of age, but you can tell it's a strong team.

Some of us have been marking this season from even 4-5 years back, and it's time. Whoever is bringing in all this talent on the edge/olb is going to get paid if he keeps it up. Right up there with Pittboss and his unit talent wise.

I'm actually pleased to hear Zamir is a little leaner than anticipated. I wanna keep him explosive, I remember Chubb got a little thick when he came back from injury and just wasn't as sudden as he was when he was a freshman.
