I'm actually pleased to hear Zamir is a little leaner than anticipated. I wanna keep him explosive, I remember Chubb got a little thick when he came back from injury and just wasn't as sudden as he was when he was a freshman.

If I can recall Chubb and most of the team lost weight.

Pics of Swift, Pickens, and Zeus are intimidating as hell.

Salyer and Thomas look completely immovable

Thomas is probably the best offensive lineman we've had since at least Matt Stinchcomb

Searched earlier and only found this:

quote:

The Bulldogs were outside for their workout, as Kirby Smart has maintained working out in the heat of day presents an opportunity to maximize conditioning while creating adversity for his team to conquer. There’s a quiet undertone of focus and competition during the drills, the players’ side conversations at a minimum and the assistants’ instructions piping up loud and clear in each of the position groups. Among the more interesting position battles to watch, Miami transfer Lawrence Cager continues to work with the first-team receivers, along with Tyler Simmons and Demetris Roberson. On defense, senior Tae Crowder and junior Monty Rice were the inside linebackers and Azeez Ojulari was outside in the 3-3-5 alignment. The secondary was as projected, for now, Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell at cornerback, J.R. Reed and Richard LeCounte at safety, and Mark Webb currently No. 1 at Star.

However, upon further read of the article, I noticed that we have a transfer from TN (Eli Wolf). Apparently he is fighting for the starting TE spot. I found a little info on Wolf but I am curious to know if you guys think he is a better TE than Woerner? What's the word on Wolf?

My just is that he is simply for depth and not the best TE we have. Would love to be wrong though. If he is actually good we need that.

TE: No surprise, but Woerner looked a cut above everyone. Very strong and focused look about him this year... But as a receiving threat but also in blocking drills. Great early reviews on Wolf... Looks maybe a little thin though. Fitz body looks transformed. Goede healthy and participating but also looks a little lean.

Practice No. 2 - My attempt at re-writing premium content... I hope you bitches appreciate this...

QB: Fromm looked sharp generally. Had one pass hit the ground where it looked like he and DRob were not on the same page. Only incompletion seen by reporter. Had some nice downfield throws hitting receivers in stride, Cager catching one of note.

Bennett (not 5'11" as noted) looked a little better than yesterday, but still some incompletions and some balls off the mark forcing receivers to bail him out. Lot of arm talent on him though, getting more zip than expected for a QB of his height. Mathis also had a better day, though inconsistent. Looks better throwing to the middle of the field than he does throwing to the outside. Mathis also had a nice read-react drill where he faked a keeper but left Cook running through a huge gap in the middle. Multiple media members noted Mathis looks improved over spring. Throwing motion much improved.

RB: "I don't wanna get people's hopes up here" (but he's gonna)... Zamir White looks damn good. It's still early, but he just looks strong. On an inside drill against LBers, Z made a jump cut causing Monty Rice to miss completely. Not as explosive just yet as Swift/Cook, but for coming out of this extended rehab, it's a strong start.

Cook taking snaps at the Wild Dawg. Worked on some zone read handoffs with Swift and Herrien sharing the backfield.

WR: No significant negative takeaways here... (like I mentioned yesterday, these dudes *want* there to be something negative, so I'm taking this as a huge win). Simmons juggled one catch on an out route but came down with it anyways... so other than it being an opportunity for a cleaner catch, nothing to complain about. Pickens spent some time stretching/grabbing at his groin/thigh area, so unclear but possibly some soreness there, but did not miss a rep. Makiya Tongue and Dom Blaylock both flashed with a pair of nice leaping grabs. Landers with a pair of nice catches himself... not great throws, a little too far out in front, but he got to full stretch and pulled them in somehow.

TE: "If all the tight ends were not wearing numerals, one could still easily pick out Woerner, as he is the only one in the group who is currently running all drills near-flawlessly whereas the others struggle from time to time." Fitzpatrick looking like things are really coming together. Wolf also looked to be getting things a little more than the day before. Todd hartley hasn't lost an ounce of intensity over the offseason. Really tuned in to his group through drills.

OL: Couple of different "first team" lines spotted, though the only position change was Ben Cleveland and Cade Mays alternating time at 1st team RG. 2nd team was combo of Truss and Condon at LT, Shaffer at LG, Ericson/Webb at Center, Cleveland/Mays at RG when not with 1st team, and Salyer continuing to get a ton of work at RT.

DL: Tray Scott hammering home fundamentals today. Wyatt and Clark managed to keep Scott pretty happy. Jordan Davis getting "ridden" a bit, along with some extra coaching off to the sidelines. Of the newbies, Travon Walker received some praise at one point. Norton/Logue both were hearing a lot about their hand usage and pad level. Mitchell seemed to be gassed early...

Jordan Davis and Logue both noted for really hitting hard. Logue praised by reporter for looking in many ways like this is his second year with the team practicing. Upper classmen doing pushups for poor reps but Logue consistently solid and picked up some praise from Tray Scott.

OLB: Jarvis Jones *very* involved with the linebackers. Feedback for each guy as soon as they got through a drill. Perhaps not allowed to do any hands-on stuff yet until classes start and he's officially a "student assistant", but a lot of interaction and encouragement.

Jermaine Johnson and Brenton Cox look to be the biggest (size wise) of our OLB. Apparently there were a lot of comments that people thought JJ looked thin in pictures, but it's not the case. Azeez seems to at a minimum have worked his way into equal footing with AA and Cox, Nolan, Johnson, and Grant all close behind.

ILB: Monty and Tae still rocking 1st team ILB the entire time. Rice flashed some speed on a drill with Herrien. Crowder with a nice play blowing past a Center to stop Swift in the backfield.

Nakobe Dean getting more time with the 2s - mostly with Quay Walker. Dean and Tindall spent some time at 2 together as well, though Tindall also ran some reps at 3 with Nate McBride. Walker looking leaner and seems like it's helped him speed up.

Star: Webb > Wilson > Poole still seems to be the order. Poole did get some work at the two spot, but primarily as the 3rd man up. When these guys were going to individual drills, all 3 were working at safety today, rather than CB. Bacarri Rambo working the Safeties and Warren had the CBs. Wilson and Poole operating behind Lecounte at the right safety slot, Webb behind JR Reed at left safety.

Otis Reese also working behind Reed at left safety, even though he's done a lot more work at right safety (including spring). Sounds like we're cross-training him, since left is likely more of a long term spot for him. Cine took reps at both spots.

Warren very hands on as a coach, seemingly somewhat different from Tucker. Actually drawing some analogies to Pruitt in his coaching methods...

Campbell consistently getting high marks and looking to possibly be the heir apparent right now for Baker's spot. Stokes had some footwork errors but athletic enough to make up for it.

Stevenson and Daniel working as the top 2 backups, with Speed in the 5th slot going through drills.

Well I got to admit, his nurses are pretty hot! Especially the ICU nurses the PA. And they love him too. Its hilarious watching him work those nurses. Smooth talker.

He's back to his normal self (has been for the past few days) but he's 72 and with what he had done, the doc says "take it one day at a time for healing." He's a tough old man. Doc thinks he will definitely go home by Tuesday.

I'm 72 as well. It's nice at this age to flirt with pretty girls and remember why you're doing so.
