1: This isn't controllable. This is fact.

2: Pretending to think you can control it is ignorance or theater. Maybe a mix of both. This is fact.

3: Your futile attempts to control it are crashing the economy. This is fact.

Please educate me.

Trumps futile attempts to downplay it in February sure as hell didn’t make the economy better. Put us well behind the 8 ball. Blame him.

I see you have moved on from January to February.

Keep in mind that Dr Fauci didn’t think it was going to be a big deal back at the end of January.
If Trump thought it was no big deal, why cancel travel from China on January 31??? Trump put together the task force in early February. We didn’t have more than 100 total cases in February.
You are 1 step behind. Your regurgitation of MSNPC is very clear. Trump has been praised by just about everyone for how he’s handled this. Even a couple Democrat Governors have given him praise (only later rescinded because the DNC slapped their wrist). Pelosi tried to cram 1T of socialist agenda in the stimulus bill and the Democrat senators held up the vote for another 6 days. Stimulus would have been signed when less than 5,000 people in the USwere confirmed if not for the democrats, but again, it’s Trump’s fault.....I don’t agree with the stimulus but the Dems were the ones that fricked that up.
Trump sends USS Comfort to NYC....only 17 people onboard after a week. The US army medical tent hospital village in NYC....completely empty. Trump doing all these things because of the panic and they aren’t being used....obviously he acted soon enough. Keep watching CNN though. Dult.
Have fun down in your butt bunker. I guess you’ll be down there until we have less than 16 people still infected. See ya for the 2021 football season

DJS, this ones for you down in your bunker. This is actual people going to hospitals to see the mass hysteria and crazy long lines and dead bodies on the street.... LINK

Looks like the only time the media shows a long line is when it’s the middle of the day and people are waiting for a walk-up test. That or no ones at the hospitals cause they are all dead and Trump didn’t do enough, early enough.

I think you should turn your TV off of the liberal MSM. They are creating more panic for people on purpose. I think Freeform is having a movie marathon today that seems right up your alley. Maybe you should check that out instead of CNN and MSNPC

ETA: Just talked with one of my best friends who is a Dr. at the biggest facility in Cincinnati (same place Otto Warmbier was taken) and he said they are now forcing mandatory PO from most of the staff amid empty ORs and ER. Ohio...where the governor said they probably had 1M cases or whatever.

Stanford educated scientist Tomas Pueyo has 3 pandemic articles on Medium. The first article was published on March 10. Pueyo's work has been viewed over 50 million times.

Endorsements and public shares
From epidemiologists, experts, politicians and thinkers

The first article.

March 10 - Coronavirus: Why You Must Act Now

The second article - analysis of strategies.

Coronavirus: The Hammer and the Dance

The third article.

Coronavirus: Out of Many, One

It would be great if IT Dawg and Deeprig9 where right but I don't think that either of them has the slightest clue what we all are facing. The looming disaster will be massive in the US. No other developed nation is less prepared.

I think that 1,000,000 deaths is the minimum. Pueyo thinks we could hold deaths down to 500,000.

Absolutely remarkable. I've said it many times, these epidemiologists are getting their jollies off right now. They have all been waiting a lifetime to get this type of attention and throw around their modeling programs and algorithms. They are looking for more funding, prestige and publications from all this. Not a single one is doing a cross reference modeling against economy vs future deaths with incorporating simple safety measures, like washing hands and if you are high risk, being more careful. All these models had our healthcare system crashing 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks, last week, now next week, or in 2 weeks....And you still have DoesntknowJackShit sitting in his bunker saying this administration hasn't done enough. Pathetic

I trust economists more than I trust scientists right now.

Economists can admit "we dont know right now"

Scientists are saying "here is my model". Every scientist has a different model. Every scientist has made 20 modifications to the model. Every scientist has recommendations from their model. But then they change their model a week later and share its renewed greatness.

The reality is... the more we know, the more that we know how much we dont know. And scientists are feeling too self important to admit that.

I'm sick and tired of hearing, the science has come a long way in the last 2 weeks. That isnt science. That is the opposite of science.

Rut Ro DontknowJackShit....looks like the ACLU was all over "Trump's administration" on February 6....I missed in the article where it said that he wasn't doing enough at this time (February 6)....

LINK

quote:

American Civil Liberties Union senior policy analyst Jay Stanley said the move is an escalation by the Trump administration that tests the balance of public health and individual liberty.

Ordering someone into quarantine can put them at risk of losing their job and disable them from providing for dependents, Stanley said, adding that the threat of quarantine could deter sick people from seeking treatment. In this case, quarantine means the separation of someone who is not sick because they may have been exposed to the virus

It's all just one big arse conspiracy to them so they can protect their orange God. Oh the hospitals aren't overrun yet so therefore they won't be overrun at all. If we did what they're suggesting we'd be like Italy right now. Obviously we can't keep the country shut down for too long but we need to soften the blow that will come when we hit the peak and once the fall comes around we need to be better prepared for the second surge

Do you consider Italy developed? Because they've had almost 1/3 of our positive tests and almost twice the deaths. They were very clearly way less prepared.

Then you should read some of these articles:

CEO World Magazine

Business Insider

Forbes

All of these publications ranked the United States as being the best prepared for the CornaVirus over every other country in the world, yet you claim we are the worst?

I'm not one to say we will be in great shape, but if we are the best prepared, then wouldn't you say:
1) You are wrong about out preparedness
2) Trump has done a better job with preparedness than any other Leader in the world?

The NY Times has lost all credibility on the subject for me. Here is an article slamming Trump for our preparedness:

In 2005, the federal government sought to assess how a respiratory-related pandemic might play out in the United States. Its report estimated that a severe influenza pandemic would require mechanical ventilators for 740,000 critically ill people.

So, in 2005 the study they quoted said we needed 740,000 ventilators....minimum.

Only about 62,000 full-featured ventilators were in hospitals across the country, a 2010 study found.

Who was the President of the United States in 2010?

So, by their own article, Obama was 678,000 ventilators short when the Swine Flu Pandemic hit. Where was the outrage and all the articles about our ill preparedness then? Where was NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC railing nightly about how we were ill prepared and and all of the deaths would lay at the feet of Obama because he had the information and did nothing to prepare for the Swine Flu?

Seems odd that nothing was said in 2010 and all the attention that is being given today.

Like I said, this may turn out to be worse. Well have to wait and see. but don't be pointing fingers unless you are willing to point fingers in directions you may not be comfortable with.

Now...keep in mind that in 2010, the NY Times said we had 62,000 ventilators.

Ventilators help patients breathe when they can't on their own. A February report reveals that the US has about 170,000 ventilators.

Business Insider

Business Insider reports this past February the United States had 170,000.

Now, I am not prepared to say trump made up the difference....I have no idea. But we seemed to have found 108,000 ventilators from somewhere. This is exactly why it is difficult to listen to the MSM and believe anything they say.

Italy has an older population but, in time, US deaths will dwarf those of Italy. I doubt that our mortality rate will be as high as Italy's but we have a much larger population.

US daily deaths exceed 1,300 and growing. Italy never came close to that many daily deaths. So far our fatality rate hasn't spiked too much because we haven't exceeded hospital capacity.

Even with limited testing, US cases are more than double that of any other nation. The curve of daily new cases continue to grow.

Unless there is a vaccine or a new effective treatment our healthcare system and economy are in extreme peril. It didn't have to be this way.

That's really the only say to compare. They have a population of 60 million. We have one of 327 million.

Dude, WTF you talking about? You are even behind DJS and 4 weeks behind on the media talking point.....
We are testing more than enough. There aren’t even lines to get tested anymore. Also, we have like a 17% positive rate for tests...
So what do all these people have, that allow them to get tested, but aren’t positive??? So 83% that are bad enough to get tested, have another health concern then....hrmmmm.
Also, we can’t go off mortality rate or anything else right now. Like I’ve been saying since Day 1, there are too many variables, too much bullshite in the models to understand where we are at.
People seem to forget that we are 100+ years of advancement in medicine, hygiene and healthcare compared to the Spanish flu. We also are not engaged in a World War.

The Stanford scientist whose posts I linked argues that mitigation isn't going to help enough. He concluded that we would be in great shape if we would only lock down from 3 to 7 weeks. With mitigation there will still be so many cases that hospitals are overwhelmed. It's either bite the bullet hard or say goodbye to the healthcare system and the economy.
