Can you please explain it to me? .1% of Americans have contracted this virus. The death toll is 8,000 (people died who at least had the virus). There are roughly 6,000 in ICU with around 750 people on a ventilator. We are 1-1.5 weeks away from the apex. I expect 200,000 to die this week and 30,000,000 to contract it, while we completely run out of the 75,000 ventilators out there. Then it will all be okay, is that right?

You try to compare this to the flu and things we have proper treatment for or a vaccine for. You also fail to understand that we are just getting started with this thing and are trying to make sure hospitals don't get overrun when we hit the apex which at least for Georgia is expected to be in three weeks.
If we don't respond properly and just did nothing like you seem to want this thing will spread like wildfire and kill a shite ton of people.

I never said do nothing. You have a tough time reading. Yea, is this a virus, absolutely. Do Viruses kill, absolutely. Do you wash your hands more doing the flu season, absolutely. Should we spend $2T and freak out the country and nose dive the economy that could throw more people into poverty and death, absolutely not.
You act like this has a 50% mortality rate and has infected 100M people in the US. You act like old people and those with preexisting conditions don’t die every day.
Does this virus suck, absolutely, just like HIV, SARS, Swine Flu, Ebola (which had near 50% mortality rate), etc. when does it stop? Won’t 1 person still have it after the curve flattens and then we do it all again in 2 months or will it be different then? You want lockdown for 16 months until a vaccine is ready?
PS - we do have treatment just like the flu right now. They also have a lot of things showing huge promise for helping with it....even with .1% of the US population infected.

PS - my good friend in the hospital was just given his first treatment of HCQ at the hospital down the street from me, I still feel the same as I have since mid-Feb. it sucks for sure, but doesn’t change my opinion or stance

About 2x as many people are murdered with guns per year in the US as have died from COVID19 so far. I’m sure DJS has already been going after the guns for years....crazy thing is that those big scary guns known as rifles, were only used in 370 murders last year.....but, DJS and his butt bunker buddies want those gone as well. Percentages don’t matter to them. Rights and the constitution are optional in their eyes as well

Yeah I never said close the country down for months but need to make sure that the hospitals don't get overrun. You try to act like this is just like the flu or other diseases and it's not. It's a virus that spreads very fast with a far higher mortality rate then the flu. Italy is a prime example of why we acted the way we did.
All you're doing is just fear mongering and acting like anyone who wants us to co trol this wants to crash the economy.

There have been more people hospitalized from the seasonal flu this season than have been confirmed positive for COVID....How did the hospitals manage 2 years ago when some 800,000 were hospitalized?
PS - I have a few close friends and family members that work in hospitals in large cities across the US and they are all talking about how vacant their hospitals are right....
Also, all the makeshift hospitals everyone called for because 2-3 weeks ago we were going to be overwhelmed last week....are empty.
