You miss out on the most basic principle.

They are in short supply. States are going to be at each others throats for them anyway. Controlling where they go doesnt change the basic principle that there is a shortage on supply.

It’s all market driven... politicalized to divide... It’s all part of the plan.

Do you not see a problem with making those decisions in an environment where everyone under the sun is trying to prove you’re fricking up...while you’re being impeached? It’s definitely not helpful when you’re dealing with a crisis.

Invoking P! is one way to prove to everyone you arent fricking up. Not doing so only fueled the haters, and the crisis.

US manufacturers should have already been compelled months ago through the DPA to shift resources into producing vents and prevented from selling overseas until the US communities are caught up. As of the president's pass-the-buck press conference yesterday this had still not been done.

The stockpiles we had have been mismanaged, poorly distributed, or allowed to fall into disrepair so I don't want the White House to control distribution - unless the job is passed to the US military or a company like Walmart or Amazon.

----
ETA: Folks should keep in mind that central control of distribution is for rural states with less money to compete with California and New York (let alone whole countries) over these resources.

Months ago? haha. You are an idiot. WHO, CDC, EVERYONE was saying this was not serious months ago and that it was in China only. Trump banned travel with China the day we had 1 case in the US...same day WHO was saying its not serious. We didnt have 100 confirmed in the US, 30 days ago. You want a President to just somehow know what WHO didn't, invoke DPA when less than 100 people are sick??? WHAT THE frick is wrong with you. You staying in DJS's bunker, aren't you?

That is just a lie. Nobody? You were saying this was nothing. Two months ago South Korea did exactly what we still haven't: met with their largest manufacturers and directed them to crank out the tests they used to isolate this disease within their borders.

Folks like you were calling idiots everyone who said this was real. People were quoting numbers like 200k dead and idiots like you were calling them alarmists.

Everything you say on this subject is useless.

FDR was an idiot, he should have had the PAC fleet mobilized, all US PaC bases on the highest alert, and should have already had stockpiles of modern weapons ready to fight the Japs, which our intel services clearly knew was coming any day.

You've said this exact phrase in back-to-back posts, and three times in the last two pages.

If the Japs had made the exact same attack 4 times before and every country in the world was preparing for a Japanese attack then maybe you'd have a point.

Using your analogy, the attack has happened (over 2 months ago) at this point, and "FDR" is still allowing US weapons manufacturers and suppliers to sell internationally to the highest bidder. Generals are telling the president directly they need supplies and FDR is replying that there isn't a supply problem because nobody is requesting supplies.

Your analogy is a joke.

The Japanese had already attacked in China and Korea.... my analogy means everything. You should read books.

I don't see why FEMA should be in charge of moving Plants and other depreciating assets without first doing an analysis on the overall impact on the Balance Sheet and P&L. :)

Bad news or Good news for Peter?

"President Donald Trump on Thursday invoked the Defense Production Act against 3M to acquire more medical masks to fight the coronavirus.

The president responded to the news reported by Fox News host Tucker Carlson that 3M was sending masks to foreign countries instead of shipping them to the United States.

“We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks,” Trump wrote. “Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing – will have a big price to pay!”

Donald J. Trump
?
@realDonaldTrump
We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks. “P Act” all the way. Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing - will have a big price to pay!

Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management Jared Moskowitz appeared on Carlson’s show to shame the company for not saving the masks for American workers.

Billionaire Mark Cuban also exposed 3M distributors for making as much money as possible with the masks and even spoke to the White House about the “price gouging” he said was taking place.

The president authorized Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf for FEMA “to acquire, from any appropriate subsidiary or affiliate of 3M Company, the number of N-95 respirators that the Administrator determines to be appropriate.”"

Japan had been in one conflict or another in SE Asia for decades at that point, and Korea had been ruled by Japan for a generation. You should read books.

Your analogy is dumb. Pick another.
