The medical professionals whose lives are on the line aren't making assumptions. They know what is coming. They're scared shitless. My next door neighbor is on the front line at Phoebe Putney and they have it bad.

Sure they are. Assumptions that their situation will be the same in other areas. That the % of new cases and critical cases will continue. That nothing being done from a social distancing standpoint will impact rates of new cases. I could go on and on. Past experience is not always the best predictor of the future. This is especially true when variables are constantly changing.

Phoebe for example.. CEO was on CNN saying they burned through 5 months of PPE supplies in just a week or so.

Ok, scary headline!

So you intake 50 patients, and that burned through 5 months of supplies?

Fifty patients.. hell, 200 patients...

Big hospital...

5 months of supplies?

You have got to be kidding me. Either they were being wasted, stolen by employees, or they were under-supplied in the first place, or he's full of shite, or all of the above.

Phoebe running out of PPE is an indictment of the hospital's administration. What a disgrace.

The fact these hospitals have so little basic shite on hand is absolutely astounding.
shite's expensive. It's a business.

I have to sign a mask out from the nurse's station before going into a room because people steal them. No shite.

My house is lonely but safe. I've avoided all personal contact but that's not unusual for me.

Of course it’s not the answer, but we have to save lives. That’s what matters first and foremost.

Yea, and if you don't recognize the obvious that there is a significant liberal news media bias against Trump then there's definitely no need for further discussion.

Would you argue the opposite applies with Fox News?

Only with Hannity and Laura. The rest of Fox News is very even keeled, even leans left at times during their actual news segments. In case you didn't know, a couple years ago Rupert Murdoch, the owner, handed it off to his kids who are registered democrats, and now steer Fox News leftward, except for the untouchable money-makers in primetime opinion shows. And now you know.

Had Obama acted like trump

You keep shitting on Trump for some reason. OMB!!! Settle down with your TDS.

You also keep quoting doctors and epidemiologists from the CDC and WHO. Well here’s a quote from the head of WHO for ya:
quote:

World Health Organization director praises Trump's leadership in response to coronavirus pandemic

quote:

The head of the World Health Organization on Wednesday praised President Trump for his leadership in handling the novel coronavirus outbreak and said the president is "taking responsibility" for leading the United States' response to the global pandemic.

quote:

said Trump was leading by example. "That's exactly what he's doing, which we appreciate because fighting this pandemic needs political commitment," Tedros said during an afternoon press briefing in Geneva.

quote:

the president is "doing all he can." "I believe that kind of political commitment and political leadership can bring change or can stop this pandemic," Tedros said.

I guess I should trust the head of WHO over a whiny, TDS suffering maniac sitting in his bunker

The fact is these hospitals are running on a razor thin margin because of CMS controlling their revenue. They don’t have the Money to stock for a once in 100 year event. Our own national store of PPE was under supplied...because of stupid govt beaurocrats.

Also let’s note that the U.K. NHS and other national systems aren’t faring better...and will be much worse off in the end I bet.

That's a cop-out. Healthcare admins have lobbyists. Extra stock of masks and gloves in this day and age, since 9/11 really, are essential and is a tiny line item in the budget of a hospital. Tiny. If the admins can't make a case to CMS for having basic shite on demand, like q-tips and gloves and masks, that's not on CMS. That's on the hospital admins for not making it a priority in the annual CMS reviews and budgeting on K-Street every damn day.

247 dead yesterday. The countries that got a handle on this were testing within a week (using the WHO test we declined for some reason) at much higher numbers than we are even now. They had decisive and comprehensive national responses based on test data that provided a clear idea of where and what materials and interventions were needed. They were not still playing catch-up a month in.

Florida is ramping up. Georgia is among the state's that might be next. Now's when we start to see the results of America's response.

I think this has clearly been a clinic in mismanagement and failed leadership from the very beginning. For God's sake the fricking NBA showed leadership when the president was still calling this a hoax.

But we'll see soon enough. Let's agree to save the final verdicts for a few weeks because this thing unfortunately is far from over.

What? And we're now conducting more test weekly than any other country and some countries that had the "jump"on us (Italy,Spain,France) all have a higher amount of cases per capita and all have much higher death rates and each have more deaths and that's with being 1/5 to 1/6 our size.

This is ridiculous. What do you think happens when someone tests positive that isn't very symptomatic? Nothing. No treatment. Drink water and sleep like you would for EVERY OTHER frickING VIRAL INFECTION. The sick ones end up in the hospital and tested anyway.
