I played in that stadium in high school because the team we were playing in the playoffs’ field was flooded and they were in the Chattanooga area.

Cool place and I know some dudes that played there. McConkey’s from that neck of the woods as well.

Let's talk about the most impressive part of the article:

quote:

As a senior, he racked up 3,051 all-purpose yards while playing quarterback, running back, receiver and return specialist...he completed 124 passes for 1,771 yards and 20 touchdowns through the air, and added 924 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground...As a kick/punt returner, he amassed 356 return yards on seven returns (50.9 yards per return) for three touchdowns...As a defensive back, he made four interceptions and returned three for touchdowns...even punted for North Murray, earned All-Region honorable mention as a specialist...Honored as Region 6-AAA Offensive Player of the Year by region coaches as well as First Team defense.

I'm sorry, what?

Person: Ladd, what position do you play on the team?
Ladd: Yes.

I have been watching college football a long long time, Ladd McConky is becoming one of the best stories in Georgia lore. Each one of these players have a story to tell, and that is why I enjoy UGA football so much. Just keep winning and they all will be a great story.

The nfl is seeing the same thing with teams like kc winning with smaller recievers.

Either a player can get it done or they cant. The prototype is too caught up in looking like a wr. Life be like, prototype my arse, this guy gets it done.

Him doing one on ones against dbacks should be a how to video for all levels of football. He eats them up.

"When Georgia offered, he did take an unofficial visit up to Knoxville. The thinking was the UGA offer provided leverage."

He was playing with fire. Let's just say glad things worked out for both parties

Indeed. He went to North Murray, if memory serves.

His dad Benji was the QB at Dalton High when I went there. Benji was a class behind me.

I'd love to see some kind of flea-flicker drawn up where Moonshine throws a bomb to another WR.

Protypical size doesn’t mean anything if you don’t catch the ball and know how to get open. We’ve had plenty of experience with that.

Few are the guys that have it all. Very few.

How in the world did this kid go virtually unnoticed by all major colleges?

Most D1 football players played both sides of the ball in high school, it's very common. Usually, if you get a D1 scholarship offer, you are probably the best athlete on your high school team and they use you in any way possible.

Right, I get that. It just looks like he had a helluva productive year, though. At ALL of the positions he played. I just didn't figure that aspect was as common, but perhaps it is?
