If some sort of common monetary rules are not

created and enforced across college football, look for the SEC to break away from the NCAA and form a new playoff. Could be the ACC or some ACC teams join in. Makes no sense to compete with unlimited Billionaire money, with no rules or limits. It may take a few more years, but it's all about buying the best team, and at some point, it makes no since. Even the NFL has limits that levels the playing field, making it the most watched sports. College football is still popular because fans still associate the school with the team, how long will that last, especially when they start losing. JMHO

Dawgs should be in the hunt next season, never know, who would have ever believed Stetson Bennett would quarterback Dawgs to back to back. 2026 could be 8-4 or 12-0, get used to being week to week.
UGA football has been a life time of enjoyment. I hope the new all for money era works, I have my doubts, longterm.
Folks have to make a choice, watch the new UGA professional team or find something else to do. I would advise my son to get every penny he could.

Dawgs were a few injuries away from being in game last night, Indiana brought a bunch of players from JMU with Cignetti, then bought a great QB and others. Everything had to jell just right, and it has so far. Georgia can do the same thing, but so can a bunch more teams. Make the playoffs and you have as good a chance as any team. Fans that want dominance, better find something besides college football. This is the day of the portal, like it or not.

College football players are in portal, 4500. They better come up with another system, don't believe current one is sustainable. Catch 22, at some point your team will have players from 5, 6, 7 teams or more, most don't go to class. More like miner league, baseball with a college name.
I know most don't care about an opinion from an old coot ,been going to games in Athens and all over the south to watch the Dawgs for 7 decades. IMHO. Georgia is a Blue Blood school, hell, even fired coaches won't leave Athens, it's a unique program. The last 10 years have been special, losing a CPO game is disappointing, but with Kirby Dawgs will likely get more chances. In the new buy a team era, if you make the CPO's you had a good season.
re: How do you rate this season?

Very good based on the 12 team CPO and NIL era. Making 12 teams might be easier than winning the playoffs.
Seems to me the 4 teams left

where all built more on the portal than recruiting. I'm know Kirby is well aware of the portal metrics, going to interesting to watch over next few weeks. As an old fan, I would be a bit concerned about the change in college football from amateur to simi-professional, over the long term. Lot of billionaires that can't get close to NFL franchise or going to try and buy a college team. Folks may laugh at that, but it's just a matter of time.
Mistake or not, no one will know for sure. Pay the fine, make sure team understands the situation. Get ready for Sugar Bowl.

College football looks the same for now, but for how long.
"What makes this meeting even stranger is that it may not matter at all. The way the new College Football Playoff works, Georgia and Alabama might very well end up playing again in a few weeks. Maybe even in this same building. Maybe even for something that the the white guys in suits will insist is “bigger.” Spare me.The stakes have never been lower for a game that still makes everyone sick to their stomach."
No matter what Kirby says, IMHO, I think he would rather not be in this game. It's all about the playoffs, and nothing to be gained by playing another game that could injure more players. I know what it means more money for the fat cats and ESPN, but UGA needs healthy players more than money.

Any player flipping to Vandy over Georgia is getting some bad advice. This year is an outlier for Vandy and he will learn that the hard way. SEC defenses ain't lower class high-school.
Kiffin to LSU will be like Saban

to LSU. The best coaching hires in last 25 years are Saban to LSU, changed program to a point they were winning NCS's 10 years after he left. Next, Saban to Bama speaks for itself. Smart to UGA no explanation necessary. I think Kiffin to LSU could be the next big hire, he's the best offensive coach in college football. Say what you will about him personally he will make LSU football a must see. National titles are worth $100's of millions to these schools, that's why they are willing to pay 50, 60, 70 million buyouts. I will add what Kirby has done at UGA will bring untold amounts of money for many years. 1980 and number 34 are still living in the minds of us old coots, 2021and 2022 will do the same for decades.
re: Definitely was an off night for Gunner.

Don't see it that way, Gunner made some tough hardnosed runs while Tech was hitting him late and trying to knock him out of the game. He is one tough son of a Gun.
My prediction
Posted by PCDAWG on 11/26/25 at 9:33 am
Based on team stats and guessing, I think Dawgs score 38 to 45 points vs Tech 27 to 31. Do Tech players want to play 4 quarters, or do they want to get ready for portal. We know Dawgs will play 60 minutes with all on the line. Last year will keep Dawgs focused and ready.
Game played out well for Kirby, no injuries, played lots of guys, good teaching points. Get ready, Tech will be a total effort.

At Baton rouge, flown in on LSU plane. If I'm Ole Miss he declares one way or other or gets gone. I think Ole Miss will be better off without all the Drama, and Kiffin.
Probably a combination of both, since I waited 20 years for UGAs 1980 Championship and 40 years for the next one.
