Where ya seeing this?

Kipp Adam's talked about rumors yesterday, Rusty was on 680 this morning and asked about it. FSU and Memphis 247 sites discussing possibilities.

Prolly Dan's agent pushing the narrative too...

Just saying it's out there and being discussed...

Dan has a ton of upside and name power (UGA DC of one of the two best D's in UGA history). HC at Memphis is doubtful, but I can see him following the HC that gave him his 1st break at the FBS level as FSU's Asst HC/DC. Hella raise and the chance to run his own D...

Hope he stays but success greases the wheels to better your position if you perceive it as such...

Gotta link to these rumors?

Lanning more autonomy to develop whereas at UGA he's running CKS defense and under his "thumb"

Please give me a source for this garbage other than Lanning previously coaching Memphis.

Lanning is on the Tucker plan: Coach 2-3 years at UGA with superior personnel to just about anywhere else and translate that into a HC offer.

And when he goes, Schumann will take over and be on the same plan.

And this will turn UGA into the place where defensive coaches go to be groomed into HCs.

Or at least as long as Kirby can keep recruiting defensive talent in the face of an offense that cant seem to compliment the defense he runs.

Lanning’s not going anywhere unless someone throws money at him to be a HC

Schumann is going to be the best of them. I guarantee you. He is very popular with the players and knows his shite. I also know for a fact that he was one of the main factors in Roquan’s growth from ‘16-‘17.

Our ILBs might honestly be the best unit on a strong group of defensive players. What he turned Crowder into this year is incredible and where Nakobe Dean appears to be headed may be another Butkus winner

We know whose responsible for that, and I doubt it's Lanning. If Lanning goes, I've no doubt Schumann can handle it. He's one of the shining stars on this staff.

Memphis is kind of random, but they are building a pretty solid program over there.

100%. I grew up with Tae and we still communicate on a regular basis. Him and Glen are close. Schumann personally put Tae as Roquan’s roommate after Tae’s move to ILB. They did everything together and Roquan’s talent and confidence rubbed off on Tae a little. He was a really good back in HS. But nobody around here was very optimistic when he first got moved to ILB.

Further, the ILBs are about as likable a group of dudes on the team as you’ll find. Intelligent and just good at what they do

Yep, just want to agree with y’all. Schumann is a stud, he’s a very sharp dude. Loved his energy. Out of all the coaches on Georgia’s staff he impressed me the most along with Pittman when I met them. Coley was good as well, but more so with coaching WR.

Lower level teams are outright stupid to hire a defense first coach. It does not work without elite talent.

Boosters want points and excitement in their 7-5 seasons year after year.

If you are a great DC, wait until a big job opens up.

Didnt call it anything but rumors. The 247 Memphis and FSU insiders are talking about it. Also Kipp and Rusty from UGA 247 have been commenting on it as a possibility.

For fricks sake... I brought it here for discussion, not to get attacked by assholes like you.

No one including me is calling it gospel or anything. I'm the least controversial motherfricker on here but it's being discussed and talked about. Stick your head in the sand if you don't wanna hear it but don't attack me for bringing it up...

Tae can get to every tackle that roquan could. The range is impressive.

He doesn't have the ability to breakdown and form tackle like roquan (who could do it perfectly). But for a "team" defense, tae is playing it near perfect.
