The team I saw on Saturday was perhaps the most unmotivated and ill prepared
UGA team I've seen since thr '95 team that got boat raced by UF....a complete disgrace
Its ALL about coaching

You must have missed the Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida games last season.

Are you one of the dudes who think PB is actually the former REM member or are you one who thinks he's a former NFL player?

So, to take another example, Churchill was more to blame for Britain's poor performance early in WWII than was Chamberlain?
While I don't agree with piling on Kirby Smart OR continually pointing fingers at Richt....
You are seriously comparing Kirby to Churchill and Richt to Chamberlain?

If you are going to do that, then lets compare Richt to Petrino and Smart to John L. Smith. Both comparisons are ludicrous.

What double standards?
We got beat by Bama last year and we were the worst prepared team people had seen. No such statements by the anti-Richt crowd about Smart.
We played a pretty good Georgia Southern team real close and it was the sorriest display by a Georgia team many on here had seen. "THIS is why we have to get rid of Richt!" Not so with Kirby.
Those are double standards.

Anyways, why didnt your NFL career pan out? I heard you had great coaches that made your slow feet so quick and your weak base so strong.
Are you insinuating that coaching cannot improve a players abilities? I don't fully understand or know about Peter Buck.....did he play in the NFL? from what I understand, he played in college at Georgia. That's a lot better than most people on this board, wouldn't you say? You guys may not understand this, but people who have actually played at a high level do have a better understanding about the inner workings of a football team.

Now I am embarrassed. I don't understand the reference to Seth? Humor an old man and explain, please?

Surely you were an all-american before that injury.
Dude. you are criticizing somebody's abilities that made it to the NFL?

Churchill was PM and then made himself MOD in 1940. I thought you were going with an analogy of Kirbs taking over the AD and as DC.... Torry for not understanding...

The problem with this team is that Richt left the o-line and kicking cupboard bare, among other things.
Kickers are one of the last positions that are recruited. Kirby got here in January, and could have gotten here a month earlier had he come here when he was hired. the lack of a kicker is on him, not Richt. Had he come here when he was hired and was evaluating his talent he could have gone out and gotten a kicker.

It's not a double standard because the circumstances are different.
A new coach gets a grace period - a 15 yr coach does not. Of course that used to be the standard. Should Kriby be held to the same standard as Richt 4 games into his head coaching career?
Welcome to UGA...where you get until your first loss before half the fan base turns on you!

The problem with this team is that Richt left the o-line and kicking cupboard bare, among other things. Unfortunately Kirby had to leave his superman's cape in Tuscaloosa. Sorry for some of you who thought he'd waltz in and win a NC his first season, only a few short months after coaching Bama to another NC. UGA's timing put Kirby way behind the 8 ball. Any idiot should be able to see that but we have a lot of ultra idiots in our fan base. Nobody can win in the SEC, or any other league, with a patched together o-line and brand new systems on both sides of the ball. Throw in a true freshman QB and you have the recipe for a rebuilding season.
Some of you motherfrickers like Peter Buck, a grown man who uses a moniker of a washed up soft rocker, need to put on your big boy pants and your thinking cap and get behind the rebuilding that will take at least two seasons.
Three returning starters on Oline, two of which are all SEC is not bare... It's easy to say the cupboard tho ... In fact it is convenient to say when you don't want facts to get in the way of a good story. Bottom line, Nicholls State and everyone else saw something in the UNC film and since then. The running game has been choked. Fact is, there are a lot of good players on this team. Highly recruited kids too. Ones that all the power SEC teams went after. It is time for Kirbs to coach up what he has and to put them in a position to be successful. I hope he learns this lesson after this weekend. I don't like seeing UGA lose either.

Those examples are not a matter of tenure and getting your own people in place. Nicholls? Seriously? You don't think we had the personnel to beat them easily?

Against Nicholls? Absolutely. When it comes to preparation? Absolutely. When it comes to record? Not so much. I don't think people have a problem with losing to Ole Miss. It was how we lost. That was the argument for Richt, and that should certainly be the argument for the Ole Miss game. Look at the rosters and see who has more 4 and 5* players. It's not like we have no talent. Saturday was preparation. Peter Buck has a point.
We have one side that wants to pick apart every decision and nose scratch Kirby makes, and the other side that would give him a pass if he decided to stay home from the game.
There needs to be some honest, unbiased evaluation.

The fan base turned on Richt even about games he won.

Seth Emerson wrote an article with our talking points. I'm fine with that BTW.

It's both a talent and a coaching issue.
We should be better than we were on Saturday, but this team isn't going to be good until some new pieces are in place.
