They have a point in that we could have used him vs UF. But I'll just be happy we finally have someone worth a shite
I mean I get being frustrated and maybe it's pedantic but when I see "I'll be so mad if JT turns out to be good" I can't help but think "so....you'd rather Kirby be right and now we have no QBs?"

So... it’s a for sure JT gets the keys this Saturday?
That's the rumor. Which probably means we'll see Carson Beck

It's definitely a weird thought process. I'd be a little bummed he couldn't/didn't play vs UF but I'd be happy for the future if he balls out.

We have 2 good WRs that catch most catchable balls that come their way ... Pickens and Jackson. And they both do well at getting separation. The passes have to be catchable though and that has been lacking since the Auburn game.
Pickens still can’t read a blitz and make a route adjustment consistently. That is huge at this level.
It also seems that Pickens is out of as many games as he is in.

I'm tired of watching other teams catch everything thrown their way and when we actually hit a wr with the ball they have what feels like a 50% chance to drop it.
Yeah, but those other teams' receivers are boring and predictable, while ours put some drama in the game!

Something I can’t understand from what I read on these boards or my friends is how “mad” they’ll be if JT turns out to be good. Are we really going to be mad if we actually have a QB worth a shite? Cause the alternative really isn’t appealing to me.
Agreed. If Daniels plays and does well I will be absolutely off the chain thrilled. We might have found the QB that can have success next year and that puts us in a good position.
I will also figure that he was not physically ready to play before this point. At some point fans have to trust our coaches. They have so much more information on ability, health and progress than we do.

I wouldn't have a problem with seeing Carson beck. I think we have seen enough of Bennett and Mathis to know thye are not capable or at least ready. (Mathis might be capable, but needs a lot more work)
It will just be refreshing to see something different.....that can be a bad way to approach things, too, though.

I will be happy with whatever gets us good QB play, even if it’s just for next season.

Here's another wonderful stat about our WRs.
That's just baffling.

In fact, Georgia wide receivers have combined to break only three tackles following receptions this season. Yes, only three in six games.
That's just baffling.

That may have something to do with not getting a lot of balls hitting them in stride with a chance to do something after the catch.

You'll be thrilled if he walks onto the field with both shoes tied. You're like "Mr. Happy Dawg".
I don't think people are saying they will be mad if JT is lights-out good. They will be mad that he was that good and was sitting on the bench for our two ugly-arse losses with never so much as a sniff at taking a snap.

That's a strong possibility. I feel like every time Jackson catches a ball from Stet he has to slide.

BVG is super suped up version of Stetson. 5 inches taller, 20 pounds bigger, galactic difference in arm talent, etc.
It's no coincidence Pickens is ready to play with a QB that can access him the ball 90% in Daniels. All signs point to the guy being the real deal eventually if not this season.
I'd take a prospect that's labeled ATH and groom him to be QB in this class with BVG. If he doesn't develop as a QB you can always play him elsewhere.

quote:Oh yes, I agree. But the ones saying that have no idea where he was physically or in his grasp of the playbook. I mean, lets face it....Kirby is not going to have an obviously superior player sit the bench when he is capable. His job depends on his making good choices. Every time he makes a poor choice it gets him closer to being fired.

ALL coaches make bad calls from time to time, though.

I’m sorry can we just pause here?....we used to abbreviate Brian VanGorder as BVG and now we are using the same for vandagriff and it’s just really throwing me off. Ready to get this kid on campus and start calling him BV##.

Instead of wasting a scholly on Stetson and Mathis, what we needed was an evaluation based on FIT and scheme rather than spite (to Mathis) and loyalty (to Bennett).
A decent coaching staff wouldn't have mad such impulsive, stupid decisions. No doubt Kirby has had some bad luck with transfers but what we got in the QB room right now could've been better had he actually made careful evaluations.
Not possible due to timing, which would have been the same hindrance to whatever imaginary coaching staff your dumbass can dream up.

Any chance we know what the number is for our RBs? Because it doesn't feel like that number is very high either. (see my post a page back where I mentioned this exact thing )
