Coach Donnan hinted that the main reason he went to Vanderbilt is because he was promised the starting job at a freshman. This may or may not turn out to be awkward.

This remains the greatest UGA QB performance that I can ever remember watching. Either this or Qunicy Carter at LSU. Some things will never make sense.

That's what I thought as well. Guess we'll see soon enough. When Vandy comes to Athens, I hope Kirby and crew lay an arse whippin' on em real bad. Of course, UGA will probably be behind at the half. It's their MO any more...

what was up was he hired the worst OC in school history at the time (debatable who was better btwn him and coley) and it completely torpedoed any fun or hopes we had

It is still mind boggling to me that Brian Schottenheimer is a head coach in the NFL right now.

After Booger McFarland watched Eason's performance in the 2016 G Day Game he went on ESPN and said "I've just seen Tiger Woods."

On another occasion Booger said that Stetson Bennett will never beat Alabama.

Cold hot takes are fun.

Taking advice from a man named Booger was your first mistake....

I don't see this as a big deal wedid the same thing with Jacob Eason. Before we even hit mid-season Curtis will be starting.

I think you're right.

I think most of us are just salt central because, for 2 years now, we've lost our stud QB recruit at the 11th hour because of some promise of starting. It makes for good gossip but will be long forgotten by October

Kids have a right to go where ever they please, but telling us all is fine and then jilting on signing day is pure trash and complete narcissistic behavior.

Shame on them, they screw so other kid out of the opportunity of a life time.....

I hope karma is a real bitch.

Eason had the same issue as Fields. They had so much natural talent that they didn’t think they had anything else to learn at playing QB. At some point the talent on the other side of the ball catches up to your arm and/or legs.

As a young QB with talent and NFL aspirations the last school I’d go to is Vandy. But, given our QB room and style of play I probably wouldn’t pick GA either.

@SquatchDawg

What was the issue with Eason again? Did he have bad work ethic? From what I heard he was a great teammate at that time. That was evident when he lost his starting spot. Real class act not being a distraction.

I always thought he just couldnt't put it together. Sometimes it be like that.

Drunk all the time and couldn't read a defense is my understanding... Just means he had too much Dawg in him....

I’m sure he was a great kid and definitely had all the tools. I’m not going to fault a kid either for enjoying his time in college.

From what I remember he wasn’t very good at reading defenses and anticipating receivers breaking open vs throwing when they came open. The latter is probably because with his arm this worked in HS.

It was night and day the way Fromm saw the field even as a freshman. I didn’t watch Eason in WA so maybe it eventually clicked.

My wife’s family lives in Seattle and I actually watched several UDub games while Eason started there, including one live at Husky stadium. Eason just did not have it between the ears. He was always a beat slow making reads and pulling the trigger. Despite his physical gifts there was always a ceiling with him. I think a couple of his best games as a collegian were as a true freshman when he was too inexperienced to know better and just cut loose. Contrast that to Bennett who pretty much always knew where to go with the ball and was decisive to the point of being a gunslinger.
