was arrested in Glynn County, Georgia last Friday on two felony drug possession charges and a misdemeanor charge of speeding.

In two seasons in East Carolina, Riddle recorded 134 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, 10 pass break-ups, and 1 fumble recovery.

Riddle was part of a significant reload in the secondary for the Dawgs. He was one of four defensive backs the Bulldogs have added from the portal, joining Clemson safety Khalil Barnes, USC cornerback Braylon Conley, and Oklahoma cornerback Gentry Williams

Riddle was limited this spring due to a leg injury, though head coach Kirby Smart explained he stayed engaged during that time.

Maybe not… we’ll see. At least it’s not domestic related.

They pocketed obviously… so I expect these charges to be misdemeanors at some point. They always take your shite…

I need to know what the specific charges are. An oz of weed or a pound of weed? Or worse? Those details don't seem to be available at this time.

Apparently Glynn Co. is after UGA football players just like the ACC PD.

Larry Leo said it was "marijuana-related products and THC vapes" whereas the AJC had "possession of marijuana of more than one ounce, possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance." Either or is a felony.

I'm not for kicking someone off the team anytime they super speed, but if you're new to the program and you're super speeding with that much illegal stuff in the car, your arse deserves to made an example of. Hopefully the next article we read about him is how he's dismissed from the program and that's the end of it.

Sounds like it was ‘packaged for resale,’ i.e. potentially an intent to distribute charge and had pens also, which, off the top of my head, I think are felony charges in GA. Sounds like he needs a good lawyer.

“After being granted the opportunity to search the vehicle, officers discovered a bag filled with a number of packets of leafy substance labeled "marijuana" as well as a number of vapes labeled "THC". “

I mean… if he sold it prove it. He could have made a run to the cannabis shop in Cherokee NC.? Cash only payment there too. Could have been a big order

It’s borderline ridiculous that we’re even having to state that in 2026, nobody does.

Usually it’s just speeding with this team. This guy brings a different element. What an upgrade!

If the state isn't getting their cut on taxes for selling it, they care quite a bit. Sorta like alcohol - if you pay taxes on it, they don't care; but sell it without paying taxes, and suddenly, they take an interest.

Unless you're selling it to kids, of course.

That makes the continuing illegality all the more dumb, They’re leaving literal hundreds of millions in tax dollars, taxes that people would gladly pay, on the table every year by keeping it illegal.

Maybe they're just after speeders and found probable cause to search and find the drugs.

And yet... it's still against the law, so until those laws are changed, people who willfully break the law will face the consequences when caught.

Except that people still buy it illegally, because those selling it illegally sell it cheaper (and with possession being legal, why not go with the cheapest provider?). Same with growers - if you're not paying taxes on it, you can operate much more cheaply.

The states that legalized it expected this huge tax boost, but results have been mixed. Hell, California, being California, has even managed to lose money on it.
