Everyone has a bad game once in a while. The pressure got to the kid and it didn't help, when we stopped running the ball. I think he will be lights out the more he plays and gains more game experience.

There’s 3 teams he can’t beat. Bama, Clemson, Ohio st. Unfortunately those are the only ones that matter.

I love the kid. I think he plays his tail off and is maximizing his potential.

He just doesn’t have the tools to be a championship caliber QB. Not his fault, just the reality. Daniels needs a shot at some point. Maybe he sucks and Bennett is our best option, but it’s worth at least finding out.

He misses way too many open throws. And I’m not always talking about incompletions. I also mean when the receiver should be able to get big yards after catch but instead has to slide or dive to get a poorly thrown ball. We had guys running free all night.

Nope. Watching him get 8ish passes batted down at the line of scrimmage and then misfire passes over the middle as a result was enough for me.

Same here. Daniels would be playing if he was either better or ready.

Same.

He’s the best we got IMO, otherwise they would have pulled him.

Our OC did him NO favors tonight

That’s not the barometer to go by. By that standard, Fromm was better than Fields (he wasn’t) and Mathis was better than Bennett (he wasn’t).

Our coaching staff has a shitty resumé when it comes to judging QB’s. Kirby will always go with the safe pick over the right pick at that position.

Think you are exactly correct. It has been a great story though.

Ready, maybe

Better? You watched that game tonight and believe that Stetson is better than Daniels?

I mean in kirbys defense, how do you bench Fromm for fields, the year after Fromm helped lead us to a national championship. It’s not like Fromm was losing us games.

Same thing with Bennett. We were beating bama at the half, and he didn’t look bad. Most of the time a starter gets benched bc he sucks or an injury.

Our OC lost us this game too. We were running the ball at will against Alabama, and then we decided to get into a shootout. If JT Daniels came in and threw 3 picks most of y’all would say Kirby is an idiot for benching Bennett

Apparently even the one with “tools” can’t do it either. It’s not in our DNA.

If it makes y’all feel any better I think we’d basically be the same team mildly better had Newman stayed. He was pretty underwhelming reading the defense but he had a bigger arm and could run with more power. I don’t think we come much closer to beating bama with him.

Because Fields was better and you can’t be that short-sighted. It did cost us games down the line, and elite head coaches have to be able to think in those terms.

Monday morning quarterbacking is real and I’m not saying I’m immune to it, but it’s not like Stetson has earned some immovable place on the depth chart. He hasn’t even earned the level of faith that Fromm had. I’m not even saying we should have brought him in tonight. But I don’t see why it doesn’t make sense to give Daniels a shot at some point. Stetson clearly has reached his ceiling and we have to ask ourselves as a program if that ceiling is good enough. I don’t think there’s any way you can say it is.
