Here ya go

quote:

@SethEmerson

Baylor coach Matt Rhule said he asked standout WR Denzel Mims if he was playing in the Sugar Bowl.

“He looked at me like I was nuts,” Rhule said. “(He said): ‘We’re playing Georgia. Of course I’m playing.’”

quote:

Kirby Smart declining to answer questions about certain players who may or may not be here.

Smart when asked whether Tyler Clark or Brian Herrien are here: "We're going to focus on the players that are playing in the game."

But hey James Cook has been cleared to play

It will be close but they will probably win. We have to many starters out due to injury or protecting draft status on a team with a sub par game HC. But who knows. Maybe UGA will surprise us and show up.

Team chemistry just wasn't there in 2019. We lost some great leaders to the 2019 draft. The staff changes may have contributed. The Sugar Bowl is important to the program but may not be to a few players. Things feel unsettled.

There are some real question marks about Kirby’s ability to manage a locker room. 2018 and 2019 both had chemistry problems.

He managed it pretty good for 3 quarters against Bama in the NCG and SECCG.

I have to ask since you made such a definitive statement. What chemistry problems were there? I saw problems in 2018, but not this past year....that is why I am asking.

A lot of bleed over from last year. Plenty of players and coaches saw and knew that talent didn’t win out in the QB “battle”. Combine that with massive regression of our current QB and a disastrous hire at OC, and you get a locker room full of frustrated players and coaches.

Two coaches got into a fight after the SCjr game. Plenty of players in a hurry to sit out the bowl and be done with the year.

How is Auburn’s recruiting going this year? Y’all getting some good players?

Say something positive about UGA. I bet you can’t.

Talent didn't win out.
Production did. No different than Eason/Fromm. No different than the team who won the SECCG and Rose Bowl.

Talent will never beat production unless the talent is more productive.
You would be bitching if we played the more talented player who was less productive.

Fromm has a low ceiling due to limited arm strength and athletic ability. Sometimes you have to trust (yes, take a chance) that developing talent will give you a shot at winning a NC.

This may be true but we’ll never know. No true freshman in the history of college football was going to unseat Fromm under the circumstances that JF entered. Everything pointed to Fromm playing something like joe burrow this year. Just didn’t happen for a lot of reasons.

Our recruiting is off the charts good.

Our defense played much better than expected this year.

You never ever ever lose games on purpose.

You always always always play the kids who give us the best chance to win each week.

If this is Missouri or South Carolina... sure. Play the long game.

But Georgia is the early preview that these kids get for the NFL. If you arent going to win your battles on Saturday, you better work harder Su-Thursday and the offseason.

Going by statistics Fields was more productive than Fromm in 2018. Everyone willing to see reality will admit that Kirby screwed up badly by limiting Fields' opportunities.

Care to share them?
Fields was efficient. Not many mistakes with the ball.
But he wasnt more explosive. Nor was he more productive. Pulling the ball down to run can have that effect (the best DTs move in the pocket to extend the passing game. I never saw that out of true freshman fields)
