Our defense will be a lot better with him in practice. Can you imagine the looks he can give our first team defense. The newbies better grow up fast. That kid is going to ball out.

So, you want him on the Scout team?

I want Fields and Bennett both splitting time with the ones, twos, and scout.

Assuming the new redshirt rule comes through, you could still play Fields in three games and not burn a year of eligibility.

If Fromm got a serious injury requiring more than three games out, then Fields is definitely the man. Forget the redshirt.

But Bennett needs to be ready to go in for the stupid shite like Fromm’s shoe falls off or gets the wind knocked out of him and needs to sit out one play.

Yup. This has been my take from the beginning. If Fields forces his way onto the field, so be it... if a significant injury is going to force Fromm to the sideline for extended time, so be it... But for simple backup duty, there is no reason to head into the year with the expectation that Fields has to cover nonsense level "backup duties" like a helmet pops off, or mop up duty.

2020 Overtakes Fromm as starter

I could see him being used as DJ Shockley was throughout David Greene’s career. Kirby shows he will play whoever gives us the best chance to win so it’s not impossible Fields could beat out Fromm.

This is what I expect. Assuming Fields index finger is fully healed and he develops as expected, he potentially gives us a significant advantage in the red zone. If his finger is not fully healed aka he is having trouble throwing the ball (it is the finger on his throwing hand), then he should redshirt.

Fromm is ahead of the curve, but Fields is at another level.

Intelligent pocket passing quarterback with the wheels and the ability to extend plays.

I hope he wins the starting job before the year's over.

Fields was in town getting stem cell and silver ion injections on his finger.

He’ll be better than fine.

Stem cells? I know that a few fetuses had to die to heal Fields' finger but, dammit man, this is football.

His finger is fine. If Fields can throw as well as is documented he will bring dynamics to our offense that nobody else can. I hate to use this so soon after his departure but think of the DeShaun Watson effect.

Pay no mind to his highlight tapes because it is just a show of his overall abilities. Harrison sucked outside of him. They had little size and little athleticism. His offense in high school was very dumbed down because of this but the kid is the real deal IMO. Thankfully he is mentally developed due to all the 7-on-7 and camps.

If Fields can pick up the terminology and understand his reads he can really make a push because he is always a triple threat guy.

The silver ion shite is not a conspiracy theory. It is being used on animals every fricking day at the UGA animal hospital. FDA for humans takes alot longer got get approved.

Regarding stem cells, if you have a philosophical reason for being against it, fine. I'm not here to argue philosophy.

Mock and chuckle all you want.

Chubb's miraculous recovery and running for 700 yards vs UNC in the 2016 opener should make you pay attention instead of talking shite about organic chemistry that you know nothing about.

I am a big supporter of stem cell use, especially in orthopedics. Don't think I said anything to even suggest I had a problem, whether moral, philosophical, etc.

I was making a joke. Silver ions are different than colloidal silver. One seems to have some use, the other definitely doesn't. I doubt either are being used to treat a fractured digit.

Whether it is colloidal or ionic or whatever it is, I can promise you it works to heal wounds.

Like the old neosporin commercials that showed a cut with and without neosporin.

But with the silver shite, it is real.

And humans can't get it.

I recommend that anyone with a wound that won't heal should adopt a pet, slice it, take it to UGA, get a bottle of the silver spray, and use it on their wound.

We were great in the red zone last year. I'd take another year like that in a heartbeat. No need to make major changes when we get down there.

Fwiw, I would be more than happy to use him inside the 5 though.

I don't fit into the anti-science mind set. The finger needs to be right. Does anyone understand how silver ions work?

No I want him making plays and making our defense better among other things, but Fromm has proven he’s a winner and we only play one QB at a time so we need him to make us better in any way only he can.

Personally I have always wondered why no one seems to plays two quarterbacks. One in each half and you got a fresh player in to run over the tired defense. Honestly, like Bama did to us.

If you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one.

Chubb and Sony had 31 rushing TDs in 2017. There is no guarantee that our offense scores touchdowns 70% if our redzone trips again in '18.

Blow out duty, and situational packages, barring an injury to Fromm.

Or unless he absolutely balls out in the spring and fall and beats the brakes of everyone else, than he may be the starter (highly doubt it, Fromm is a beast also)

Amazing highlights and it's good to hear that his index finger will be fully healed for Spring practice. This young man obviously has an optimal combination of size, athleticism and natural passing ability. Fields might well be the difference maker who leads us to a long awaited NC.
