A&M is after him. He will be gone. And make millions soon, cant blame
Him. They’d be better
On hiring Elko.

I can’t wait til they try to turn it on us like they stole something from us while we still have Kirby and muschamp. Defense won’t miss a beat.

No. They want a proven coach. Think Lincoln Riley to USCw.

Shu is on track to make millions upon millions in his career, and has already racked up a couple millions. He can pick and choose his next job, I'm not sure he'd take AnM unless it's a stepping stone to Bama in 2 or 3 years when Saban retires. In which case, why would AnM throw money at him, and why not sit in a cush job in Athens until Bama opens up? There's multiple angles, but I just don't see it. It reminds me of when Jimbo threw a million a year at Coley to leave UGA, a huge bump in pay, and Coley said nah, I've got it made here. Well it didn't work out for Coley but my point remains. I don't know why Shu would want to leave Athens for AnM. Other than money, but money has diminishing returns. He's already rich by any regular person standards, and his value is worth a lot more than that, why cash all that capital in for AnM?

I think ATM is going for a big hire that's willing to be in that 6-8 million range until he wins. The AD/hiring department has to make up for a $75mill debacle that has egg all over their face. Plus they need the recruiting and transfer portal in their back pocket when the new coach comes in. ATM can't afford to be behind Texas and Oklahoma in their first year of SEC. It's a win now scenario for them I think. Not a 1rst year head coach taking over a dumpster fire.

lol

I'm sure they do want him but there is nothing to suggest he will be gone. Do you have any idea on his career aspirations or what he wants right now? Money is not the end all be all, especially for guys that have already made a shitton more money than the avreage joe will ever make in a lifetime.

Being a head man is a whole different ballgame than being DC. Kirby waited until the exact perfect opportunity although he could've bolted any year prior if he wanted to. Lanning took a job that had eveyr resource you could want and was given control and was at a place without sky high expectations and in a conference that was mostly a total joke.

Schumann would be walking into a job that is fed up with 3 loss seasons and is goign to demand titles. He will also likely not have full and complete control of whatever he wants. Oh not to mention the pesky "have to play alabama/texas/OU/LSU/georgia/etc" in my conference thing. Taht is'nt really a great spot for your first job, IMO.

surely you jest

I'm not being facetious here, but I cannot possibly fathom why any big time football school woudl offer him a head job after his stints at UF and SC.

I just read that Mississippi St. is the one that’s pursuing Schumann. Anybody hear that? It’s a random, possible click bait article from Facebook.

I could see that happening WAY before I could see him going to aTm.

Not that I think he IS doing that necessarily, just that it'd make more sense to me. There would be zero expectations at all which seems like a pretty decent selling point for a first timer.

A&M just received a check for 145 million at halftime of the MSU game. They're not worried about $.

ATM could also go for a pro coach and throw crazy $ for elite assistants.

I wouldn’t begrudge him for taking their money. Speaking for myself, I would have major reservations about taking a big job in Texas at this point in his career. They obviously have incredible resources, but having Texas oil dudes as your boosters, trustees, etc. would not be fun.

They just fired a former DC who was a 1st year HC. Surely they won't make that mistake again. They should find a G5 HC from a sound program to stabilize their program.

Better jobs than A&M will come along.

The culture of that place is not conducive to winning and I am not sure exactly why.
