Georgia football coach Kirby Smart indicated tailback D’Andre Swift is 100 percent, and receiver Terry Godwin is expected to practice on Monday.

Left tackle Andrew Thomas, however, is still on the mend.

“Andrew, we’re hoping will be able to get more active a bit more,” Smart said at his Monday press conference. “We don’t know if he’ll be able to practice today.

“Terry is OK, Terry should practice today, he does have a (shin) contusion, but I think he’ll be able to go today.”

Thomas missed the Bulldogs’ 49-7 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday on account of the ankle injury he suffered on the first play of the second half at South Carolina.

Godwin didn’t play in the second half, leaving the field at halftime with his lower left leg heavily bandaged with ice taped to it.

Smart said Godwin may have hurt his shin in the game, but Godwin has also dealt with a calf strain and knee injury that kept him out most of fall drills

Swift didn’t play after the second series of the game, but Smart indicated at the time that at least part of the reason was Georgia wanted to rotate running backs.

Smart reiterated there was no injury situation where Swift was concerned, putting an and to any speculation.

“We expect to be 100 percent at the running back position,” Smart said Monday, “like we were Saturday.”

Godwin is our best red zone option. We are loaded at the receiver position but I think he can go up after the ball better than anyone. Looking forward to seeing him at 100%

I was thinking they'd throw Landers in the Red zone for some jump balls...they raved abt him on practice squad last year.

Holloman looks like an athlete. He might get there too.

Agreed. Looks strong, big target, and appears to have good hands.

I love the physical play of Holloman and Ridley when they catch the ball short of the 1st down marker, then drag 2 DBs for the 1st down.

I can't be alone in shitting my pants every time Hardman and Godwin catch a pass, run a circuit that takes them 3-4 yards back, but then they manage to bust out and gain the first down. I know they're shifty and good, but I always freak out at the sight of it.

I'm waiting on this: "The Dawgs come out in a 5 receiver set with Godwin, Hardman, Holloman, Robertson, and Ridley. And it looks like 2 of the DBs just pissed themselves!"

Jesus, son of Mary, the possibilities out of this set. Especially with Fields in at QB.

I hope we’re never in a Hail Mary situation to have to find out what that would look like but I gotta say i would like our chances

Just have Mecole put Terry on his shoulders, while D-Rob, Ridley, and Holloman try to box out.

Or have someone toss Crumpton in the air. But your plan may get a little more height.

Holyfield can do that, so just have him split out wide on the 2 receiver side with Crumpton. Might be dangerous and Crumpton could end up in low orbit for a little while.

If a player catches the ball within the confines of the endzone but never actually lands so as to make contact with the sod, is it ruled incomplete? Never mind the negative recruiting that might occur from our rivals: “sure, send your kid to Georgia where they are liable to make you an unwilling, untrained astronaut. THEY DONT EVEN HAVE AN AERONAUTICAL SPACE PROGRAM WAR EAGLE.”

We may need to re examine this strategy...

I would think the game would have to be delayed until said player was finally returned to solid ground. Can't blow a play dead that has the potential of seeing Crumpton toe tap in the end zone following his space expedition.

I think we could use this as an ace in the hole should we ever end up in a 2017 national championship situation game wherein we could test the stamina of the other team by waiting for Crumpton to renter orbit once the other team tired and fell asleep on the field or simply left.

However, this would likely not work in a domed setting as hitting the roof would constitute landing out of bounds.

Would work well in MBS. Just have him execute a metal-a-hole exit.
