Where do you see his biggest opportunities to improve in his sophomore campaign?

He's going to have to find someone else to depend on besides just throwing a jump ball to Wims.

Working through his progressions a little more. He did a good job of pre-snap reads last year, but it'd be nice to see him check down to the 2nd and 3rd receivers more often rather than looking for the RB or tucking it if his initial read isn't there.

Not locking in on one receiver (progressions) for sure. He got away with that a lot last year. He had his mind made up where it was going before the snap. Hopefully more time with receivers and better o-line will help.

He wasn't nearly as bad at that as Eason was the previous year.

In fact, most of his throws were in 3rd and long situations where he only had 1 or 2 options on the route tree. He pretty much had his mind made up presnap because that's what the play call was. He stared down a little bit, but again, not nearly as bad as Eason was doing before.

However he also didn’t have a jailbreak blitz in his ear every time he dropped back like JE did either.

That has nothing to do with staring down receivers.

That would have something to do with all the dumpoffs and checkdowns when there was a wide open guy downfield, but not staring down receivers.

Even when Eason had plenty of time he was usually late delivering the ball. Eason just wasn't decisive or accurate.

I’d like to see a more balanced wide receiving corps. I’d like to see the ball more evenly spread out between WRs and TEs. Having a go-to receiver is great but relying on the go-to receiver is not.

Bigger emphasis on passing to the tight ends.

Or mom beach pics - one of those two things

Apparently Fromm has no glaring weaknesses to improve upon, but maybe Chaney does. ?

Ha

I worry about his accuracy under pressure.

He missed the easy throws against Bama. I don't know if it was being rushed, footwork, or just poor placement.

Looking back, Murray had the same problem his first 3 years (he couldn't hit a screen against a blitz to save his life his first 2 years).

Looking at the stats against Bama, Fromm really struggled.1 great bomb saved the stats from being awful. I recognize how bad the interior line was that game. And I recognize that I am expecting the interior line to be a strength (a huge one) by seasons end.

If I raz Stidham for struggling under pressure, I have to recognize the same issues with Fromm against Bama.

Hopefully he can get a little more arm strength but otherwise the typical improvements that all QBs need: seeing the field better, letting the game slow down, pre-snap recognition, and trust in his receivers. Throwing to the TEs would be good, too, but that probably has more to do with play calling than Fromm.

With better line play and deeper WR pool, plus a very potent running game with Swift alone, not to mention the backups and freshman, I think he rolls. The game having alowed down for him should make him more lethal in the RPO we run.
