Same here. I was beginning to think I was the only one that thought this way.

My point was that if Richt was going to put Bauta in at QB then he should have put in lots of rollouts and and options for him rather than a standard pocket passing game. It was as if Richt didn't even care at that point.

I understand, but everything changes when you do that. It drastically changes the way the OLine blocks and the timing of plays. There simply was not enough time, even with two weeks.

I just think it was a poor decision to switch up QBs. (In fairness....and nobody will admit this....we had several on this board saying we should do exactly what he did. Start Bauta)

They were as stupid for thinking that as Richt was for doing that.

No argument. But that is what you get when people just want change, but don't understand the dynamics of different types of offenses. That said, knowing we have Fields we can put certain packages in for him as a freshman to get him work, and have to OLine work under a different system. But, if Fields has to step in and play an entire game we could be in trouble if they want to set the game plan around his running abilities. It's next to impossible to have two diverse offenses set and ready to go. My guess is Fields would stay within the framework of the pro style offense while working in the "Fields packages" during the game and then adding to those packages slowly as the year progresses.

I agree with the other Dawg fan who referenced Treon Harris. Strange shite happens in Jacksonville. Nothing is guaranteed and what can do wrong for Georgia in Jacksonville eventually will go wrong. Hopefully just not this Saturday.
