went to Porterhouse last month and they were 'out' of every single one of their signature cocktails- how is that possible?

Best Burger place that’s NICE ambiance...

Burger PLUS ambiance...go with 5 or Trapeze. You can also start or end in Highwire Lounge right there. 5's burgers are legit.

Clocked is cool and burger is good with a retro hippie vibe and Grind house burgers are great too but ambiance is quirky playing -B movies on the wall. Just depends on what you mean by "nice ambiance".

My father in law LOVES the Athens Rafferty's. I don't understand it. I think he fricked a waitress there back in the day and just goes there for nostalgia.

Went Grindhouse. Sat upstairs. Great burger place. Hate you can’t get the burger cooked less than medium, but quality meat and great assortment of combinations and toppings. Thank you all for the recommendation. Right next to Steg too so convenient.

National used to be my favorite upscale place but they fell off. I havent been in over a year, is it awesome again?

Haven’t been there for over a year. Used to be decent. Have to say that Athens food scene is a huge step down from Atlanta, and rightly so. A restaurant can be so so in Athens and make money, not so that m Atlanta. Different audiences. Now if I’m looking to get cheap drinks with a horde of college kids.............,

He was probably shitfaced. Bartenders tell customers they are out of everything when they don't want to overserve someone.

We were seated, eating dinner and the place was pretty empty, first drink of the night so not an over serving thing. Oh well, still a good dinner and they made a decent Manhattan and the wife just went with wine instead. Just odd- out of every single signature cocktail.

Someone screwed ordering inventory or the bartender was just being lazy bitch. Most HATE making "signature" cocktails BTW and would rather pour shots, wine or open a beer.

So where did you end up?

Sorry I missed this. All the recommendations were solid.

We were at South Kitchen. Shrimp and Grits or the Fried Chicken is awesome.

Burger Grindhouse.

Next time
1. Marker 7
2. Seabear
3. Last Resort - For desert only

Then go to Insomnia and get a cookie and Ice Cream.

Went with Grindhouse since everyone wanted a good burger.

Funny, my cousin (who runs Texas AD media), reaaaally wanted desert, but all Grind had was milkshakes.

PS - you should’ve seen the pizza order for just the Texas players when we dropped them back off at the hotel and that was at 9:30. Most of them had 2 plus sticks/wings/salads....they had dominos

The nationals small portion size for the cost is ridiculous.

If you order an app and a dessert and a few alcoholic bevs, the entree size is perfect.

Was, I should say. I have'nt been in a while.

The coconut cake should be declared a religion.

I always liked their app menu too - do they still have the black bean crepes?
