yea, that's just the way it goes i guess. and if it makes yall happier i have actually backed off maybe a smidge on my anti-richtism. i'm not mad at him right now. i still have plenty, plenty of issues with him and i don't think he has what it takes but you nailed it, who do we get? there isn't anyone. a while back i saw a multitude of candidates we could take and improve our school with but those guys are getting either extensions or going to new schools. it's a crowded market and richt has actually elevated his stock in my world so at this point i will reclassify my thoughts:

Richt should not be fired...yet.

Although, Greene benefitted from having some nasty defenses

If we had this offense in Greene's years, we would have won at least one NC from 2002-2004.

I think Jordan Jenkins has a chance to be close to what Jarvis is now. He's a stud as a true freshman, and Grantham will figure out ways to use him creatively with stunts and moving him around.

That play in the Florida game where Jarvis and Jordan lined up on the same side when Jordan rushed outside and Jarvis stunted around him to the inside and they both got to Driskel, should be used at least once a game. That was a filthy blitz.

If you though our run defense was bad this season,

Spelling error aside, I thought our defense was pretty good this season. 16th best in scoring. Better than 108 other teams in the nation. It could bave been better, but it wasn't as bad as the weak football minds here think it was.

This thread has circled the drain in a hurry

Sorry...didn't mean to imply that the greatest man of all time may have a flaw which...wait for it...

...could effect the Defense in '13.

I.E. we will need a disciplined defensive team to make up for the dropoff in seniority and talent next year. No penalities - know your assignments.

Defense should be fine next year, lotsa underclassmen with playing time coming back. Defense could be at least as good as this years squad, maybe not as good as last year, but definitely good.

It sucks that UGA cannot maintain a good OL/DL from year to year like Bama and LSU do. A good team always reloads.

With almost everyone coming back on offense, we should be able to have longer drives and keep the defense off the field longer. If that happens, it would have to help them to stay fresh longer.

It's really ironic that one of the most moral, upstanding coaches in the FBS has a serial discipline problem with his team, on and off the field. You'd think he would run a watertight program, and yet...

I know. I just shake my head every time I think about it. Mark certainly hasn't developed his attitude regarding discipline from the Bible rather it would seem it stems from his years with Bobby Bowden who also have very undisciplined teams.

I think it comes down to the fear factor. The defense respects the hell out of CTG because in large part, they fear displeasing him. The entire state of Alabama is scared to death of Nick Saban. It's hard to be afraid of someone that's constantly "hugging your neck and telling you 'I love you'" in a football context.

Once CMR retires, I marvel at what a fired-up, Tokyo-stomping HC can do with the talent we already have.

Is there a list or consensus somewhere on who we lose to NFL/graduation, and who will start next year?
