Smart summed it up: “We’ve got to get better offensively to get where we need to go.”

Orgeron said the same about their defense and their team is ranked #1 in the country....
You fricking haters are infallible...I guess Saban ain’t the guy now either

IT dawg....be real...are you happy with this offense? We had what,33 yards in the 4th Q. 9 3-AND-OUTS.
no real improvement throughout the year. The offense has Jake looking his worse in year three
I think you can be super happy with the win, but also have real concerns about our offense going forward.

If you can’t see our shortcomings on offense, I seriously doubt your claim that you were a walk on wide receiver at Georgia.

If you think coley is the guy something is seriously wrong

So being unhappy with the production of the offense is now being a "hater". Get fricking real dude.

Absolutely agree. Coley should have ran the ball 30 more times that game. Look at what I said leading up to the week about attacking that d-front. Look what I said in the “in-game” thread. People wanted us to try and sling it over and over....we tried that and failed. People upset at what gets us the W because it’s boring and conservative

I’m not one to beat a dead horse but I don’t see how anyone can stand behind Coley.
Yes, it is what it is - but be reasonable, should we have really expected to regress in areas where we should be at least competent in?
I’m 100% behind the team come what may, but to stand behind a coordinator that couldn’t cut it at Miami, and that drew ire from poor WR performance as the position coach, I just can’t find any way to say “Coley was a good hire.”
If it wasn’t for an elite defense we would be begging to see him gone.
That being said, time to sack up and finish strong. Go dawgs

I swear, it seems like Coley only has 3 run plays in his playbook, and 90% of the time it’s a dive play. The OL and RBs are supposed to be the strength of the entire team, and yet they’re underperforming because the coaches call the same runs over and over.
Chaney got a lot of shite from our fanbase for his playcalling, but is there any doubt that the man knew how to construct an offense? He frequently changed up formations with a mix of different run and pass plays.
I get that the turnover at WR has been noticeable, but basically everything ran smoother under Chaney - QB play, run blocking, big run plays, big passes off play action, first down success, etc.

Well even Smart knew that there were better choices out there...remember Eddie Gran?
Should have gotten out the big checkbook. Imagine this team with a real OC and a high flying offense to go with our D.

The weapons Chaney had last year are like night and day to to this one.
I'd figure it would be no difference if Coley was last seasons OC and Chaney was this ones.

Coley ain't the, but let's hope he figures some shite out over the next few weeks. Offense was bad overall against Auburn, but called some great plays in the redzone to get us touchdowns instead of FGs. We won't see a better defense unless we make the playoffs and possibly not even then.

I dont think that's true
Cager has fit the Holloman role well. Sucks he is injury prone but he has been available for most games.
Drob is experienced and should be able to make all the plays Terry made.
We don't have a good comp for for Mecole on the team. But we did get a prototypical WR who has all the tools you look for in an elite WR, which is something we havent had since AJ
Nauta is better than Woerner but neither of them were used effectively.
Point being, we have weapons and we have a QB in his third year that has preformed well the first two years.
Now in his third year he has regressed. That's on the OC

There will be regression with any new OC.
The question is how much regression and for how long.
We dont have faith in the WRs. And they havent earned that this far into the season. It is tough to call plays when you dont have an identity. Any success that we do have is schemed.

What’s scary about that is Kirby’s first choice appeared to be Eddie Gran. If you talk to UK fans today they seemed to wish we’d gotten him. The fact that I’d still speculate we’d be happier with Gran is in my mind a damning indictment. Subjective, sure, but Coley has been atrocious.

This is what makes me think this style of football is mostly a strategic choice. I do not like that choice but understand it logically.
Basically, if you don't respect the other team's ability to score on you, don't do anything to help them do that. That mostly means don't turn it over. It's overly conservative imo, but the other side of that is that I would expect a different plan vs. an LSU type team.

Agreed and I also agree Kirby has the offense he wants. We aren’t going to get nor should we expect a high-powered attack any time soon. It’s just that Coley’s offense is failing to even waste time.
The defense faced something like 86 plays on defense. Lost TOP by 8 min. I think we converted 2 or 3 3rd downs. The offense didn’t even give the defense time to catch it’s breath. It fails to even accomplish Kirby’s goal of conservative ball control.
Also, not saying you agree with it, just shouting at the sky in reply to you.
