Coley is obviously not the guy. His work with Fromm is a net negative.

The only unit in the offense that has shown the kind of improvement you'd expect is the O-Line. I'd take a hard look at a few of the position coaches as well.

Get a new guy in to revamp the offense and work with Jake. This staff is doing the kid a disservice. If he leaves this year Coley will have cost him millions.

Yep, we need more outstanding receivers. Blaylock and Pickens definitely have potential. We were lucky to get Cager from Miami but he's had injury problems and he's a Senior and will be gone next season

No no no no no

The receivers are not the main problem. Watch the tape. It's the play calling and Fromm telegraphing throws, not going through progressions and throwing his preferred pass whether or not its into double coverage.

All of the games are on YouTube. Just watch the passing plays. Coley isn't helping him any but Jake needs to shoulder a significant portion of blame.

Ever think how hard it is to motivate receivers to run crisp routes over the middle when they know the ball is always going to the sideline?

This is my biggest worry against LSU. They don't have the best D but those corners will sure as hell jump those routes if we don't mix it up.

2 of them were inside the 5 and 1 was a great deep throw. You cant tell me after watching us play this season that you dont think we are over-using the back-shoulder/comeback with a straight face.

The main stats Smart is watching for Fromm are Wins and turnovers. Fromm is being coached to not take risks. It is pretty simple. Not sure why y’all are projecting blame and/or making shite up to worry about. Smart has told us such in his interviews. If you don’t like it, I understand, I do think Smart wants a more dynamic offense... dynamic enough that we can run the ball down the opponent's throats with regularity. Will it catch up to us? Maybe, but it is a strategy the HC wants. Nothing y’all say on here will change his mind. I guess you can bitch about it if it makes you feel better/smarter.

Because fromm has shown he is capable of more and you can be conservative but creative at the same time. Getting first downs in the 4th quarter is pretty important for winning the game and we didnt get any and it almost cost us the game. So the offense not reaching its potential, especially when we have an elite defense, makes me mad because this year could be special if our offense can get their shite together

Eta: read the rest of your post and yeah it is just bitching for the hell of it but it does help

Lemme ask you something Obi Wan. Do you think this is a good offense? I for one would really like to see some improvement in the play calling where we are not as predictable and can adjust to the defense we are playing. If you disagree, that's fine. But get off your arrogant high horse about whatever Kirby whispered to you in your dream last night.

This made me smile and I agree completely.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's a cure for what ails us this season. Kirby will have to lose more critical games before the offensive philosophy is changed. And we definitely need more talented receivers. LSU is a good example of what can be done with a talent group of receivers, a stud QB and a wide-open passing game. If we had even half that level of a passing attack, our running game would be killer.

I dont think we dont have talented receivers. Sure, we lost a lot of our production and experience at TE/WR, but there's certainly talent in that room. Maybe they're undisciplined, but the scheme should fit that group. LSU's guys are great and well coached, but they also fit the offense really well and are asked to do what they can. One thing Kirby does really emphasize for receivers is blocking so maybe that's why Simmons and Landers get so many snaps. Who knows. All I know is that what we are doing is not working very well, cost us one game, and almost cost us 2 more that we dominated the entire way. I don't need an LSU offense, but 12 3 and outs???? wtf

I'm sure Kirby would love to run the ball every down, but that doesn't win. We HAVE TO PASS.

This isn't about style or overarching strategy. It's about poor execution in the passing game for a myriad of reasons. Conservative philosophy does not excuse poor execution period.

You know how we do in our 2 minute offense? This is how we know what we can do when we take the governor off.
