UGA should be in playoffs next year, without a doubt

Stop it...

It took a very strange set of events to not have to play Alabama in the SECCG. If we had played that matchup in December and lost (even in OT), we would not have been in the playoffs... Only Alabama would have gotten that kind of treatment this year. The upside... *maybe* if we are undefeated going into an SECCG against an undefeated or 1-loss Alabama we might be able to see the same thing happen again this year, due to our performance in 2017... but wouldn't count on it. As a result, "without a doubt" is pretty silly to say we'll be definitively better than Alabama next year. Can we compete with them? Sure.

True.

I think we get there, but winning it is a whole different burrito. That essentially means beating Bama. I think a year's worth of film on Tua and the experience that the younger guys will have by then will help, but I'm far from assuming that to be a win.

I think your boys are winners. Winners usually remember what happens and how it felt. I know Kirby will take advantage of that and catch us. It will be close but that's what has to happen. I think the Dawgs are more than capable.

Say goodbye to the old times. The new Dawgs are coming soon (hell they're already here really). I am sure of it.

I love that you're actively living up to your sig quote.

I didn’t think we would be this good this year. If Kirby keeps bringing in loaded classes, there is really no reason to think it’s out of the realm of possibility every year for the future. Football can still be fickle though.

I think we will have close to or perhaps even bama equivalent talent but the main difference is very few of their touted freshman and even sophomores do much more than special teams whereas we are counting on 18-19 year olds to play major snaps. Bama has established s pretty good system of highly recruited guys being willing to sit knowing that the 1-2 years they play will quite possibly lead to the nfl and maybe a national championship too.

I’ll be happy if we win the East. Win the East and everything else should be on the table.

I think 10-2 and winning the East are real possibilities.

I think we won 3 out of 5 of these games below, but could certainly see 2 losses.

1. USCE - on the road at Williams Brice, early in the season. This will be tough. 2012 CMRPTSD.

2. Auburn at Home - will be breaking in a new O line and RB. Defensive line is back, so front 7 will be tough.

3. LSU - possibly a night game in BR. They always have talent even if O is their coach

4. MO - Road game they treat like their Super Bowl. They will score points in bunches next year.

5. Florida- It is still Florida and we play a road game every year. That game belongs in Campus.

heck in if you said 2018.......
and not 2017 would be the year for the Dawgs. Now I'm seeing alleged Dawg fans saying not 2018 but 2019

Not sure why you think people are "alleged dawg fans" for thinking '19 is the year. It's not like we just now discovered we'd be losing a ton off the defense for '18, I've said for a while now that we would be roughly equivalent on offense next year but take a step back on defense. Waht came out of nowhere was how good we were THIS year, so I guess people just think it's natural that the following season will be even better, which I don't really see. Although out talent is ever improving a lot of it will be young and inexperienced.

And here's another thing...we could very well have a worse team next year but better record. We exchange @ND for MTSU. We exchange a pretty darn solid MSU for a floundering LSU. And we get UT/AU/GT at home. It wouldn't shock me in the slightest for our defense to struggle for half the year but see us go 12-0 regardless. Here's the major problem though; we are undoubtedly going to run into bama in the SECCG. if we lose that game there's no guarantees about our posteason future.

Now with all that said, '19 and onward should be incredible. Our offense will be excellent and our defense will be lights out. Watching us play bama the other weekend we weren't physically or mentally pushed around like they do to most other teams, we were simply outmatched at 1 or 2 positions (opposed to 15-20 positions) which we are overcoming with recruiting.

12-0 and the winner of the SEC Championship game will be the National Champions.

I love the dawgs but I find it funny that people think 2018 is going to be a 15-0 national title year when we won't be as good as 2017 where we lost 2 games. Not to mention, the 2nd half against bama when they completely overwhelemed us, most of those guys on offense were all true freshmen. It's not like they're going away.

For me, it was SECC in first three years. He has now accomplished that. For me, he has five more years to achieve this again. Can't have 5 years in between SECC's and think the program is in the right place.

NC is a taller hill to climb.

I have low expectations.

I think we’ll be better in 2018. Deep and talented. We’ll be right back at it. That schedule is pathetic.

deep and talented yes, experienced no. And I realize if you have 5* studs experience doesn't matter quite as much but it's still somewhat important. We could have 2 guys playing ILB that have only seen a couple of mopup snaps. Both OLBs have played sparingly (to go along with some TFr). Our starting RT has never taken a college snap. Our starter at star very well may have taken less than 10 career snaps as of now and we have 2-4 guys competing for a CB spot that have also only taken a few snaps.

That's why I've said '19 and beyond is going to be prime time, because we wont' have so much youth at so many crucial positions.

If those road games vs LSU and South Carolina are at night, they are going to be tough. I could easily see us dropping one of those.

Also, we are more talented and deeper than Florida on paper, but Mullen is more competent than McElwain and they have a promising QB now, and Jville is always a wild card situation.

And I couldn't be happier. Why make things harder on ourselves than it needs to be? We have 8 SEC games/tech/SECCG prior to the playoffs, it makes no sense to intentionally make our path to the playoffs more difficult.

I agree. Not bitching about schedule. Pathetic or not, it was predetermined years in advance. We just so happen to be better than everyone on it.

He might be good down the line, but I think Emory Jones has a ton of work to do to be a successful collegiate QB. But Mullen is a good guy to help him get to that point unfortunately.
