I've been at that waffle house with my timing belt broke. Probably just after midnight.
I called a cab. Waited an hour.
Then decided to run home. I was able to make it 8 miles until my leg muscles cramped (overpasses are a lot steeper than you realize until you are on foot). I walked the last 4 miles.
If you have the resources of the UGA athletics department available, you use them.

yah, hopefully no alcohol was involved. Either way if a UGA staff member was driving there could be some legal ramifications for UGA. I assume since Lecroy deceased they are keeping the police report concealed and could be delaying the toxicology report.

get that. But something isn’t adding up. Would coaches be in the car with players at 2 in the morning?
They’re recruiting staffers. They’re close with all the players.

Ya, not diminishing their roles because they are important, but they are closer to being a tutor or trainer than a coach.

f you are a football player and need a ride, are you calling Kirby at 2am?
With all due respect, there were two female recruiting staffers in the car. And, they were going to waffle house after 2. That's not needing a ride. Once again, why are staffers in the car at that time going to hang out?

It's practically an HR meeting.

Yep. And if alcohol is involved then there goes that narrative.

This is so sad and tragic and more than likely avoidable. For all we know she was trying to avoid a deer. We don't know the details yet but it is worth repeating a message I always hammered to my airmen when I was active duty...have a "designated driver" AND a "designated thinker".
Probably no seat belt usage either.

It's been tough for me as a fan, I can only imagine what their families and teammates are going through. Two young adults, two DGDs are gone too soon. I pray for a speedy recovery for the other two passengers and that the families can find peace.
Willock had one of his best games against Tennessee. Got the start if I'm not mistaken. Gary highlighted at least two punishing blocks he made that produced big plays. They are the plays I will always associate with his time on the field for Georgia. But his true character is seen in the video of him with the young fan, where he let's the kid wear his championship ring, and that will be what I remember first when I think about #77.
RIP

More information about the wreck and the cite excessive speed as the cause. I wonder if the University will be liable. It probably depends if the car was registered to the University since she worked in the recruiting office. LINK

Word on the street is "Go Big Injury Lawyers" are representing the Willock family. Might get ugly. Not s good spot for UGA...they should, and I'm sure would even without the lawyers, help the family. But now with an injury lawyer they are going to be pushing for as much as they can and fighting that will be tough PR.
Edit- Devin had a NIL deal with this firm apparently

Idk what the angle against the university is? Especially if no alcohol or drugs are found to be involved?
Posted on 1/18/23 at 6:58 pm to claydawg09
Correct. Especially if was her personal car off the clock. And probably even if it wasnt like you said.

I’m not good with lawyer stuff man. So is it like if say an electrical company had an employee go crazy in a company vehicle whether he was on the clock or not and it killed someone? Like how do we/ the law assess what personal responsibility is? Sure the rogue employee was in a company vehicle but obviously the company wouldn’t condone or support his behavior. It’s a mess to me.

I am no expert either, so not sure how they will be pursuing it. Just heard that was coming down the tracks.
