Good, but incredibly sad read: LINK

“He loved Kirby Smart,” Whitehead said. “He loved their whole staff. Just loved all of them. Loved the kids all down there. The students. He just thought Athens was the greatest place and the greatest thing since sliced bread.”

“Wasn’t going to transfer. It didn’t matter about the NFL. He wanted to stay there and get another championship or two and wanted to get his degree. As long as he had eligibility left there, he was going to play. He loved it there. He absolutely loved it there.”

“He thought the University of Georgia was the greatest place in the world.”

Just doesn't seem fair that a kid like Willock is taken so soon. I can't imagine what Willock's and LeCroy's family, friends, teammates, and coaches are going through.
Just heartbreaking.

Now that the shock has worn off I just feel sick. Reading more about how, going to WF with the group. Such normal college stuff. Dam almighty it's heartbreaking. Prayers and more prayers. Good speed Chandler and Devin.

I had to look at google maps to see where the accident occurred. That doesn't seem to be too curvy or dangerous section of Barnett Shoals road. I guess we will hear if there was speeding or other factors involved in the accident. Lecroy was the driver but they will still have to do a toxicology report. RIP. EDIT: Saw the news story. Really bizarre crash. Hard to imagine high rate of speed wasn't involved. I think the speed limit is 40 or 45 on Barnett Shoals. LINK

Hard to picture hitting/breaking all those things and still kept going. Like gas was hit and not brakes. Panic..who knows.

The two survivors may never get past this. Prayers for them and all the families.

Forgive me, but she was a recruiting staffer, no?

Yea the two women were recruiting staffers. Apparently they were all getting together at Waffle House after taking the high school kids back to their hotels.

Employed by the school? If so, is there a rule against player/employee interactions? Not trying to sound bad, but the question that has to be asked is why was she in the car?

I get that. But something isn’t adding up. Would coaches be in the car with players at 2 in the morning?

If you are a football player and need a ride, are you calling Kirby at 2am?
