You could say Chaney leaving over a small amount of money difference in the end.

So. Carolina has scheduled a Tuesday call for its board of trustees to approve the hiring of a new offensive coordinator. The Gamecocks expect to hire former Georgia OC, Colorado State HC Mike Bobo at that time. @DCPandC first to report.

I'd say he's pretty damn talented at choosing asst coaches. Our guys aren't packing up and leaving. They're getting HC offers or bij raises to leave.Lanning is another guy whose stock is on the rise.

Makes me think he contacted Kirby and Kirby said we are sticking with Coley.

So much for Bobo coming to UGA. Smart needs to go out and hire a real OC. Coley isn't it. He also better find a QB. A QB who can sling it all over the field, and preferably also run it.

I get what you are saying, but Bobo isn't an OC who throws the ball all over the field. If thta is what people want....a wide open offense....Bobo would not be the call to make.

I really liked Bobo and defended him against a lot of people on this board, but he is not a guy that opens the offense up a lot. Maybe he didn't because Richt didn't let him, I don't know. but he was pretty much a pro style offensive guy. Maybe throw/run at a 55/45 pace? That's more than we do now, but not what some of you are saying you want.

Maybe his way of letting Kirby know he is available and is willing to go back to OC?

You know, I am not sure Bobo is what we need to save this offense but at the end of the day any movement at all would just give me more faith in the program going forward.

100%.

Kirby needs to save face on this garbage. Fromm shouldn’t have regressed as he did. With Bobo I at least expect a competent QB and passing game. Just need a top notch OL coach to match.

I think he was averaging 35 ppg in his last couple of years and was in the top 25 nationally offensively. Please (anyone) correct me if I’m wrong cause I’m pulling that off the top of my 54 yr old brain. If he wasn’t a good OC why did a D-1 school come calling?

I don’t want more than that; I just want balance and competence when we do throw.

Colorado State was 14th in the nation in passing yards per game despite using a 2nd string QB for most of the season.

Bobo is only going to South Carolina because he’s know Champ is getting fired next year. Then they can be hired as the coordinators for us and the 3 amigos can be reunited again
