Was hoping getting rid of Grantham was the enema that was needed in your scenario.

I feel like having a blackout at 12:00 would take some of the fun out of it but that's just me. If we make it to the SECCG then I'm all for it.

That GT game is gonna be a war whether yall wanna admit it or not. Sure, it's not the BEST situation for it but, hell...frick it, they should have done it vs AU.

I've been more worried about Tech than AU, honestly.

Bugs will be out for blood.

Exactly. Has a UF feel. UGA coming off big win, feeling good, GT hasn't won in a while and after last years collapse you know this will be huge for them.

And JT is a shitload better than Vad. Hell, he is playing better than Nick Marshall.

I fully expect to blackout at some point during the GT game.

And we are without Gurley. We need Sony back and we HAVE to keep GT off the field. Pruitt will need 2 weeks of staying up to 4 am to stop them. And they get a bye.

Well, we get Charleston Southern.

We don't do too well after byes, so I'll take a patsy over a bye week.

But yeah, we had better come prepared to play or gt could definitely throw a piss balloon on our parade.

Sounds like Sony will be back. Wonder if Floyd plays the star vs tech like he did vs Auburn. That was a great move that helped seal the edges getting our fast LBs on the field.

I'm anticipating the same thing vs tech that I did vs auburn and that's that they'll get their yards and points. Was pleasantly surprised (to put it mildly) vs auburn. On the other hand, our offense should get theirs too vs tech.

I just prefer a bye before the triple option. Or GSU to warm up (well, now they run the AU version and they'd give us a battle for a while too).

Clemson played well against them actually but Stoudt was so horrid and left the defense out to dry. And he helped GT throw a few pass TDs. But JT is a real weapon and that team is humming right now.

You know that loss last year hangs over them. Most the GT fans I know have that loss with the 2009 one. Maybe higher. They had us dead with no weapons and a hobbled Gurley and STILL they blew it at home.

back us on in...

It might be, "officially", backing in, but we beat the ever-loving dog squeeze out of that team in front of us head-to-head......so there's that.

Obviously we will never be undefeated under CMR and we will always have to back in

I'd love to spoil a team's playoff hopes and win the SEC. We could also successfully bookend the SEC champion in the title game streak. Which is nice. Crap.

True. But I love the way we kept contain against AU. If we can stop AU's rushing attack, I believe we'll be fine vs. GT.

The East team does get the home uniform choice this year, so it definitely could be a possibility. Don't think we'll do it if we play Bama though...

We have some modern UGA fans who are eaten up with envy of our neighbors who have gotten a few more breaks and won national championships in recent years. Richt could have two on his resume if he'd gotten a shot with his one or two loss teams in 2002 or 2007, and he was very close in 2012. LSU won their recent national championships with two losses and one loss, Florida had a loss both times under Meyer, Alabama had one loss in 2011 and 2012, Auburn had a loss in 2012 when they made it to the game. I suppose all of them backed because they weren't undefeated? And, by that logic, whatever SEC team wins the conference, and possible national, championship this year will have backed in too. Seems like a popular strategy for teams in this incredibly competitive football conference.

You make it sound so simple to go undefeated. I went back for a quick look at SEC champions for the last 65 years. Ten of those league champions had a perfect season record, and about half of those were Alabama. It's always been tough to get through the schedule without a blemish (or two or three as many conference champions have had). Vince Dooley did it his first time after 17 years at Georgia, and that was his only time.

The Mark Richt era is the golden era of UGA football, and he's done it under a disciplinary code that is quite foreign to most of our top competitors. Unfortunately some are seemingly ignorant of the facts of our team and conference history and take every opportunity to diminish or even ridicule Coach Richt's accomplishments. I have no empathy with people who can't enjoy (or apparently even recognize) success and try to drag everyone else down to their miserable level.

I'm all for a blackout if it's done the right way. Don't announce it on the Monday before the game. Let them come out of the tunnel with the black jerseys on like Auburn 07. Don't give the other team a week to get mad and say things like they guess we are wearing black to our own funeral. Like Saban did.
