Biggest Concerns Going Into The ND Game?

There isn't a lot we can get from three blow out games, but I did see a couple of things that bothered me
The screen passes at times were pretty effective against us. Against lesser opponents like Murray State and Arkansas State it's an annoyance but against a team as talented as ND it could cost us 6. I really hope we improve in this area because the last thing I want to see is a WR taking it to the house off a bubble screen that should have been at worst a 3 yard gain.
Our slow start vs Murray State seemed to be an anomaly but it did happen. We cannot afford to start slow vs a top 10 team or it'll be an uphill battle all night. We need get out quick to keep the crowd jacked.
Mobile QBs always scare me and it has been sort of a problem for us this season. The Irish has a QB with legs so getting to him quickly and often is a must. Even if it isn't a sack we should put him on his arse to make him think twice
What else yall got?

I’m most worried about our new starters and freshmen not having faced a major opponent or big time atmosphere like they’ll see Saturday. It’s one of those things that you’ll never know how they’ll respond to until they are put in the situation.
Also, how do our linebackers handle the fastest offensive personnel they’ve seen yet.

I see a lot of adjustment coming the second half.

Only thing I’m worried about is am I too old to still get blackout drunk?

I’m just hoping no children will be molested.

I have a hunch that ND will be going back with a big loss.

Is this a typo or are you predicting the future.
What game did mobile QBs give us trouble?

Question marks...
Believe it or not, I will still put interior run game. Despite all of the success we had running against Ark St, they had 3 good interior DL and all of our success came at the perimeter.
I know that we will run successfully on Notre Dame. I'm curious how much will be in the A Gap. How much will be in a B Gap (without immediately bouncing to the sideline). Or will all of the successful plays be out to the perimeter.
I have a question mark on Mark Webb in pass pro. Murray State gave him trouble. 44% of their first downs passing (including a TD) were at Webb.
With the shuffling on the OL, how will we handle stunts from the defense?
Will we hit on the long ball with Fromm?
I expect positive results in all of the above. But at this point early in the season, they are all still questionmarks.
Other things that can most definitely give us trouble... fumbles. ND has been good at takeaways. Offensive holding. Our offense is great. But it only takes -10 to make it more difficult on getting first downs. Personal fouls. This shouldn't ever be a concern, but so far this seasoj...

I am worried about foreign objects at the Dog Walk, you drunks make sure you police the area before the team arrives so no one trips.

I think we've reached the point where our talent level is such that we can beat anyone. My biggest concern is simply that it's our first game against a high level opponent, after 3 easy games.
As Kirby has said, you don't truly know where you stand until you face some adversity. Mistakes that are easily covered against teams like Murray State can be costly against a team like Notre Dame. It's still early in the season, we have a lot of younger players (especially at certain positions), and if we make stupid mistakes, we could make things hard on ourselves.
That said, there are no specific position groups or matchups that worry me. If we play a complete game, we should win. But...we have lost some games we "should" have won...even a few since Richt left.

I’m worried that the predicted high temperature will keep dropping as we get closer to the game.
I want ND to regret their decision to play a game in the Deep South in September.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I felt like a lot of the shorter or screen passes that were “successful” for other teams were on 3rd and long where we would give teams 10 yards and be fine with them punting.

The only concern is the health of Drob, Simmons, Campbell and Wilson. When we play any top ranked team, we need everybody on deck.

Containing their mobile QB and being able to convert in the passing when we have to.

This may be Adam Anderson’s breakout game. Nolan Smith finna eat also.

I feel pretty confident about this game but one thing is letting Ian Book running around and extend plays. The Dawgs have struggled in the past against mobile quarterbacks. Dawgs win 35-17 and cover.

That it’s a snoozer by the half! Ready for some good football.

Blankenship & Camarda need to step up.
Alright, hear me out. In our biggest games last year, each helped our opponents with bad kicks that should have been gimmes. In the SECCG, Blankenship hurried & missed that 3Q 30 yarder that would have put us up by 3 scores. After the game, a Bama player commented how that missed FG was the spark to their comeback.
And in the Sugar, Camarda took a long snap & promptly touched his knee to the ground, giving Texas the ball at our 25. Then on the next possssion, he shanks it 11 yards giving Texas the ball at the 50.
These kicks were momentum changers that hurt. And they can’t happen. We need our kicker to put points on the board & our punter to pin opponents deep. Especially in our biggest games.
So let’s see it.
