Anybody else wondering what a two-tight end set with Gilbert & Darnell Washington would look like?

Not questioning the concept but is he too big? Fast enough? I’d think more 12 personnel? First player that came to mind was Mike Evans... but I thought he was around 230? Isn’t Gilbert 240+?

Terrance Edwards said he has dropped 30 LBs. So more like playing at 210-215

X receiver is often out alone against 1 DB. It is more about being explosive off the line and explosive to the ball in the air. Gilbert should excel at both of those (we lined up washington on several highlight plays like this).

We still have Robinson, Rosemy-JackSaint, and Mitchell for when we do need more speed to rotate in.

It could be hell on DCs and defensive assistants. Gilbert can help block in the run game.

The defensive coaches have to count tight ends to call defensive personnel. Gilbert, Washington, and eventually Bowers can all be primary targets in passing plays. They can all play tight end on run blocking plays.

It could be a long week for defensive staffs prepping how to line up and call plays against the dawgs.

What's up with all the bipolar/ mental issues all the LSU bunch keep taking about? I haven't followed AG since he opted to go to LSU.

18 year old away from home.
Covid
Online classes (no college experience to outweigh the stress)
College football is tougher mentally than HS
May have had a bad reaction to spice

Edwards addressed this on his Twitter last night. Said Arik will likely play at 235 or so.

For comps, think Chase Claypool or Mike Evans size.

Don’t forget about Fitz. He made quite a few plays last year.

Expect to see Seither and/or Goede transfer out

Bowers, Washington, and Fitz is a tough room to break through with Delp and Spurlin waiting in the wings

No doubt. Fitz could have a year that puts him in the league. He isnt the freak athlete that the others are, though. Slightly bigger version of Michael Bennett or Brian Finneran.

Brian Finneran in Madden 2005 was the best video game WR of all time

Let's meet Arik (pronounced Eric) Gilbert in this video.

Doesn't sound like a head case or dum-dum to me.

LINK

Seems he just wanted to be back home and really didn't like LSU once he got there.

Offense is absolutely loaded with skill players. It's all up to Matt Luke's group now.
