They are important efficiency stats.

But QBs have legs.
Joe Burrow kicked our arse. Twice. And it was on his legs both times.

ESPN QBR and EPA take the legs into account.

Stetson Bennett and Gunner Stockton are no where near the effective QBs that they are without taking their legs into account.

Lsu fans will tell you burrow didn't be one burrow until their 2018 bowl game. He got hit hard by a UCF or whoever defender and shook it off.

Then Brady came and you had two freaks emerge at WR.

People talk about 2019 like it was jsut this insane confluence of once in a lifetime talent while completely ignoring that the core was already there in 2018.

-Burrow's numbers that year were worse than jake Fromm's. That isn't a typo. Burrow threw for 57% of his passes, less than 3K yards, 16 TDs and 5 interceptions
-You're forgetting the run game! They had Clyde edwards hilaire in 2018 too. In addition to their actual starter who ran for over 1K
-But in 2019 they had all world WRs! Yep, they were there in 2018 too. Justin jefferson, jamarr chase, and terrance marshall were all WRs in 2018.
-The defense had a stacked lineup of future NFLers
-Despite alllll of the above...they lost 3 games and only finished 3rd in their own division. Lost to a UF team we demolished, got blanked by 4 TDs by a bama team we led until 2 minutes left, and lost to an AtM team that ended with 4 losses.

What is my point? I don't have one. I'm rambling. This has nothing to do with Arch and is just a minor pet peeve of mine. 2019 LSU was an all-timer but people act like all those dudes just got there that year when they were all already there the year before. Joe brady made that team, not orgeron or anyeon else.

I think most people attribute that team to Brady unlocking the freaks. Orgeron provided the edge and motivation but that was about it.

I don't remember Burrow being very good in 2018 then the right OC came in, and turned him into a savant.

It's the classic case of thinking whoever is sitting in the backup roles or being recruited are actually going to be amazing once they take over.

I like the Burrow comp outside of - You would be hard pressed to ever find a receiving room that good again outside of OSU in recent years.

Pollak may actually think this but he is probably trying to draw some clicks. Looking at Kirby's past, I don't see how he brings a guy in to play over 2 guys that have been in the program for a while. Puglsi has been in the program for 3 years. There were some doubts about Gunner and some talk of bringing in another QB but Kirby stuck with Gunner. He obviously values loyalty and experience in the system. Seems like he would be a better fit in the ACC at a school like Miami.

Smart brought in JT Daniels and Jamie Newman.
There was effort to bring in Mendoza with Beck leaving.

The objective is winning.
I don't think a transfer QB is off the table.

He would definitely not guarantee a starting spot to Arch. Mendoza didn't come here because he knew Gunner would probably be hard to beat out in Kirbys eyes.

I agree that Kirby will reward the loyalty when given the opportunity.

Not sure anyone around Arch would want this announced if they were actually thinking about. Just one day after the season, he hops a plane to Athens at night and the end for Texas.

This is all for clicks.

Leave open the possibility that some coach was simply punking Pollack for yucks and David fell for it.

No but if Gunner leaves I do think our QB next year isn’t on the roster right now

Arch vs Florida
14/20 177 yards 70cpct 6.8 ypp

We gonna keep pretending Arch is a QB that couldn't start at UGA or nah?

We could definitely use a taller QB; Gunner gets a lot of passes batted down or deflected.
I'm just not convinced the Arch is a good fit with our team.

That was the reason you disliked Stetson until he won the Natty

I think she even wanted him to leave after the first natty.
