Browsing hotels, it looks like the only rooms available are in Batesville. Anyone have experience with the Oxford area?

I've always wanted to check it out.

Definitely going to this one. Never been to Oxford. Going to leave Nashville on Friday, and will stay with the gfs family in Memphis that night. Ill drive the hour and a half to Oxford early on Saturday.

Was going to go to Ole miss for school a couple of years ago after I took a visit there, beautiful. Everything is relatively close to eachother and rather easy to access.

Chose UGA instead though..... No regrets.

We went in 2006. Stayed at a "cabin" at some state park. Can't remember the name. It was ok though, and not very far from Oxford. Maybe a half hour drive.

I'm going but I have family that lives there so we are staying with them. Will be my first trip there so don't know about hotel accommodations just know that I have always heard its a great game day experience. And their team is going to be really good so it will be a good test for our guys on the road

I was going to. Had rooms booked in memphis for a long weekend. And then one of my wife's friends decided to get married on that exact weekend and blew it all to hell.

All I'll say is that there'd better be an open bar and good food. That's the only way I'll begin to think about pretending this screw job is ok.

That Bitch. That's how you get yourself seemingly irrationally hated for the rest of your life.

Unless there's a funeral we go to all of them. It's how we vacation.
Our friends and family know better than to schedule a wedding in the fall cause we ain't coming. Go Dawgs!!!

Hopefully your wife knows the sacrifice you are making.

She was almost in tears over it because we were both looking forward to this trip for so long. She is actually in the wedding, otherwise we wouldn't go. I'm kind of hoping for a later afternoon game so I can watch it on my phone during the ceremony. Hope I don't forget headphones...

That's just not right. I made sure to tell my wife that we were not getting married during football season. I'm not going to be the ahole that makes someone miss a Saturday of football for my wedding the season is short enough

Getting married during football season should be against the law in the South anyway!
