Anyone notice UGA is getting almost no press?

LSU, Ole Miss, TX, FL…but barely anything about UGA on the post game media. LSU is sucking all of the air out of the room. Even MSState getting segments about how great their QB is.

I like it.

Glorious but a function of an awful starting schedule.

I dont call the starting schedule awful.
But you nailed it. There is no reason to give UGA airtime the first two weeks.

Walk
Crawl
Run

With 9 conference games, a 10th with the SECCG, and 3 to 4 more playoff games, why burn the engine hot in September?

Combined 9-24 last year for the first 3 teams. Pretty awful.

Georgia is the least-hyped #2 team in the country in recent memory. Part of it is because Georgia being in the top 5 is nothing new, and part of it is the rise of the Big 10 and Notre Dame. And then of course we played one of the shittiest teams imaginable last Saturday.

One way or the other, I like it.

This isnt your dad's college football with 5 conference opponents on a 10 or 11 game schedule with a bowl game.

This is virtually an NFL schedule (9 conference opponents on a 12 game schedule with potentially 5 more post season games. And the toughest games are potentially the 5 from December to January).

We may as well build in our own preseason.

This seems like a vintage Kirby Smart team and right now we seem to be on a revenge tour, even though we won the SEC and finished #2 in the final CFP poll last season, which means that we'll have some crazy team stats heading into the Oklahoma game. Arkansas might be one of the shittiest SEC teams in recent memory.

Right now we're #1 in the country in yards per play (11 ypp) and #5 in yards per play allowed (1.8 ypp). Wouldn't be surpised if we're number 1 in both after 3 games.

Kirby has never been one to run the score up, but he might make an exception for Arkansas after Ryan Silverfield popped off at the mouth about UGA last season when he was at Memphis.

Agreed. In general, he doesn't run it up like the heupel or ryan days so just for style points. But he's shown that if he personally has a beef with someone he'll let it rip. Vandy canceled on us twice in 2020 and we beat them by 60 the next year. After malzahn made his snarky little comments in 2017, the next year we were up by several touchdowns with a few minutes left in the game and had blankenship faking a fg and throwing it to the end zone lol. Went for 2 on brian Kelly while already up by multiple TDs.

All that to say, I have no idea if he really cares about those comments buuuuut it wouldn't shock me to see him not let off the gas as much as if pittman was still coach

Bama used to get little press because it was old hat for them to always be in the running. Good times.

I think a lot has to do with our loss in the playoffs last year and the fact we're bringing back the same QB. Gunner doesn't get a lot of respect because he isn't dynamic or flashy. Either way it's good we aren't getting a lot of hype. Kirby likes playing the underdog.
