I’m hoping that vanilla glaring obvious we are about to run the ball play calling left with Chaney.

I have a strong feeling, that unfortunately, this is one area where NC52 is probably correct... Our offensive identity is an extension of what Kirby wants us to be as a team... I'm not saying that we won't have some new wrinkles, but color me skeptical that we'll all finish the season saying, "man, we look really innovative on offense". I'd love to be wrong... so long as that innovative offense is also wildly successful.

Unfortunately I think that was Kirby's MO to protect the defense last year and develop Fromm the year before. I think both of those are non-issues this year plus having a dominant OL that most have been on campus for 3 years or more. He needs to take the reigns off the offense. I am not saying a 50/50 run/pass split...but damn get to 55/45 run pass split. Practice killing teams and putting them away all season to get ready for SECC and a playoff run.
Anyways...back to recruiting. How many of these guys do we think we can actually land? I am thinking 6-7. That ND game is going to be HUGE. We better ball out for 4 quarters.

I think we will be more agressive on defense with the "havoc" mentality.
I have to agree on offense, with our OL and talent, we should be able to say we are running on this play and will still get at least 5 yards. I want innovation and to get the ball in the hands of playmakers too. But I also respect dominating the man in front of you.
I think our redzone and as mentioned above, when we face the higher competition, is where we have to be less predictable.

Don’t care if you have 5 literal bulldozers on the OL. If you insist on running into loaded, 8 and 9 man boxes, you will get stuffed.
Teams will go cover 0 and dare us to throw.

Right now, I feel pretty damn good on all of the bolded guys above. In order of least confident to most confident that we have a decent shot at the maybes (italics), I'd put Ricks, then Dexter, then Johnson, then Sewell.
I think TE is still very fluid. I think we're in as good a position with Sewell as we can be, but there's a long way to go.
Dexter I think is going to be wildly dependent on what our year and what UF's year look like. IF UF starts off the year with a loss or an ugly game against Miami, then drops 2-3 through the regular season, we probably snag him. (He's sold on the "almost there, you're the key piece" from what I've been able to glean. A rough season for them would wreck that pitch.)
Ricks I just don't know enough about yet. I trust the sources who are saying there is smoke there, but until I get some confirmation that 1) there will definitely be 25+ slots in the class, and 2) that he visits... just tough to project him in the class at this point.

Kid is the real deal.
I have a strong fear he ends up at the mega church with pastor Swinney though.

Beck in 2020, Williams in 2021, and Stockton in 2022 is pretty much exactly what we need at the position moving forward

It is more about success than innovation.
We looked pretty damned innovative with Gurley.
We looked pretty damned innovative with Chubb/Sony.
When plays dont work, they dont come off as very innovative.
When we win.... we still have a favorable tint to the offense (2017). Even when it is not deserved.
Innovative is in the mind of the winners circle

Anyone see the tweet where Kendal Milton posted himself and Elias Ricks with a UGA background?

Other than the team being good, I have no idea what the offense will look like and who will emerge as playmakers. The uncertainty is a bit unsettling but interesting.

No. Definitely it is the right place to ask for advice on what to do about crazy women...
Sometimes conversations run into different areas, but both the conversation about he who shall not be named and the innovation on offense stemmed from concerns on offensive recruiting over the long haul. Thanks for your concern.
