Interesting... If anyone reads DN forums, SoFL who I've quoted over here in the past now has pivoted his position on the Elias Ricks conversation... Jeff Sentell and a few others had teased out that Milton and Ricks are long-time friends and that he might not stick with his LSU commitment. Per SoFL - via some source that he has that is close to the staff - right now we're at 70/30 UGA for Ricks.... I don't even understand how that's possible. He's also said this would not be in lieu of Ringo or Kimber...
He's also agreed that we're going guns hot at Joseph due to the numbers crunch... Conley/Williams would cost us a spot, but Joseph is free at this point...
I'll wait for this stuff to play out personally, but good lord we're operating at a completely different level on the recruiting circuit for these things to even be options. Remember the days of praying for a late flip or two of a mid 4* to get the class into the top 10?

“UGA is still on top, but I’m not committed," Joseph said. "I'm gonna take other visits. Things have changed since I originally signed, and things are different now with me coming from JUCO and not high school."

Trent Smallwood (Rivals most accurate guy) put in UGA forecasts for Darnell Washington and Noah Sewell (!!!)

We've liked where we sat with both of these guys since the BBQ. Trent's comments specifically were that he was still reluctant to CB Sewell on that news alone knowing his link to Oregon... "recent intel points him toward playing SEC ball and am told Lanning & Schumann have done well here"...
DW it has been rumored to have given the silent back at the BBQ, with things trending somewhat downward all of a sudden on Gilbert and the comments about Gilbert not wanting to play with Washington, this feels like further confirmation on that. I'd be more than thrilled with DW + Theo if we can make it happen. And personally, if we can't grab 2/3 of the elite TE's, I'd rather see us use the spot on a different position than take Cam Large...

Additional news of note: the confidence on Zach Evans seems to be growing.

Yeah... I keep seeing great things, but the issue is it's August. There's a long time for things to go sideways... and at least one desperate team in the mix.

Obviously long way to go. I have a few diehard aggies that I know through work, some in GA and some in Texas. The thing that has been interesting to me is that while so many have assumed he ends up at aTm, those guys, who are relatively plugged in, have consistently felt that he would go elsewhere, likely out of state.

As hard as it is to believe with Clemson, The #1 class is within reach.

If you do the math, it's not really even that hard to believe... Clemson if they don't land Burch or Arian Smith is likely out of big bullets after Flowe - at least that is being talked about currently. They have an insane class, but their insiders have even said they doubt they'll get the class over 315ish... if UGA lands most of their remaining targets, we're looking at a 320+ class based on current rankings...

We’ve got to hit on everyone on our board and also not be the victim of unfavorable reranks.

Not really everyone, but the top end pieces make the difference. And of course re-ranks will change all of the calcs in about 2-3 months.
Burch, Ringo, Evans, Sewell, Washington puts us at 316. Smith + Walker takes that over 320...
Based on general buzz/intel, that first group seems highly likely at least right now... Walker probably got reprioritized a bit with the Cox departure. I have no idea whether we can land Arian Smith now or not... seemed like we were driving but he's slowed things down. Would hate to lose him to Clemson or Alabama.

Can someone tell me how these numbers are tabulated?

I've never seen a breakdown for 247 Composite Team Rankings... If anyone has it, feel free to share.
Rivals posted this a while back ago: LINK
The long and short of it is this:
As you add players, the incremental value for the "team score" on 247 goes down... For an easy example, go find a class that has say 20+ recruits in their current class and use the class calculator on it to add a specific recruit. Then go find a class that has 10-15 recruits in it and add the exact same recruit via the calculator...

If White and Cook show out, which I think they will, I doubt we'll land Evans at the end of the day. My $.02

Or that could mean they’ll easily go pro after 2020, and then Milton and Evans would get two years to show out, with their freshman year being a time to learn the system and get a handful of carries a game.

Yeah, I don't think either of those guys is thinking "year 1 I'm going to be the featured back". Sony definitely wasn't, Chubb wasn't planned to be until Gurley went down with an injury. Seems pretty obvious that they won't and/or shouldn't care about those guys doing well.. in fact it would be beneficial to them.
