Maybe. maybe not. I mean we lost a ton of WR last season and we have one so far. (Especially after losing Holloman) Yes, I know what we pulled last period.

Also....going by what you said about RB's....we are going to our third and fourth choices there, too. I am NOT saying our coaches are not doing well. I think they are doing great. But, I fail to see how a coach that got a 5* and a 4* last cycle and has 4 4* this cycle is on the hot seat. I understand that Scott was the secondary recruiter for a couple of those guys, but isn't this his 4th recruiting cycle (Counting North Carolina)? 3rd or fourth. I doubt he is on the hot seat...but if he is, then so be it. That's up to Kirby Smart.

For some reason you seem fixated on the DLine....I get that it has not been our strongest unit, but wow.

TS pulled a “solid” class after two back to back “whiff” classes. None of that is championship level and is way behind the work of Clemson, Bama, LSU, OSU, etc.

He cam to Georgia in 2017...January, I think. (Just looked it up....Feb. 10. 2017.) So, at georgia he has had 1 class. the last one which was a pretty darn good one with Bill Norton and Travon Walker.

We have 3 WR committed right now if I’m not mistaken.

Not sure Lloyd or Bigsby are 3rd or 4th choices. More like:

Milton/Evans=1a/1b
Lloyd/Tank=2a/2b

Not a lot of drop off from the ones to the twos. Supposedly Tank was given a number he needed to hit at The Opening and he hit it.

Agreed. Don’t think Scott is on the hot seat yet. UGA hasn’t produced a real DL recruit in YEARS. Davis is the closest thing to it for 7 years. Scott needs Herring, Wyatt and Davis to show out this year. 2021 draft will cement Scott as an elite D line coach and the recruits will pour in. G. Dexter is the recruit that can make this years class special. Every coach on the team should be after him. He needs development but could be Quinnen Williams after a redshirt year. Need bigger NT’s and explosive 1st step DE/DT that can play in a 3-4. UGA is just now recruiting those types of guys. We were settling before on guys like Trenton that were talented but had a lot of red flags.

You are correct. I forgot about Robinson and Wren. But, even so, if we are going by stars to determine the quality of players we lost Hardman, Godwin, Ridley etc....two 5*and a solid 4* this past year and have signed two 3*, anad a solid to high 4*.

You always rank which players you want 1-whatever.

Evans would always be #1 in this class and our second choice was Milton.

After them it was Lloyd and then Tank.

Actually there is a big dropoff from Evans to the rest of the field. He is a clear cut #1.

Don't misunderstand....I really like Tank. He will be an excellent back. But if some people on the board think every other position is hitting on all cylinders then they are mistaken. We are recruiting at an insane level, and they DLine may not be recruiting at the highest level we can, but they are not way behind a couple of other areas.

Trent Thompson should have been it. He just didn't develop for whatever reason.

I guess my big complaint is it keeps being repeated that Scott has had two lackluster recruiting classes before having a good one last year, and he has only been here since February 2017. He was not here to do anything in 2017, and then had a Devontae Wyatt and Jordan Davis in his first real class, and then had Travon Walker, Bill Norton and Jermaine Johnson, Zion Logue in his last class.....all 4* players.

The reason it seems we are not doing well is we missed on some players some on here felt would come here. Understandable. I suspect we will pull Zykevious Walker and a surprise before this class is closed out.

Those guys were “replaced” by Pickens, Blaylock, and Tongue moreso than the current commitments, timing-wise.

You are contradicting yourself in your own post. Your disappointment with Scott's recruiting started in 2017. But he was hired 9 days after national signing day.

So you have 2 data points to compare. 2018, we brought on Jordan Davis who is a stud as an underclassman. It is too early to throw out Wyatt as a dud (low 4 star deserves a shot as an upperclassman before being judged).

2019, we get Travon Walker. And a solid 4 star in Norton.

Keep in mind, our nickel might only field 2 DTs if our OLBs can be stout in run support.

The CBs have been pouring in for Williams lately.

His tape looks great, super dynamic athlete. Hopefully he'll commit soon and start getting to work on the '21 class.

There can always be differing opinions. After watching Evans film I saw a back with speed, balance, vision, agility and some power.

I have to admit, that Milton's sophomore film changed my mind a bit after seeing it. his junior film was not nearly as good as his sophomore film.
Somebody (You, maybe?) said that his OLine was not nearly as good his junior year as his sophomore year, and yes...Milton looked excellent his sophomore year.

I still have to say given a choice there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind I would pick Evans over Milton.
I would hesitate on Milton and Lloyd as to which I would choose after seeing Milton's sophomore film. That tells the tale for me.

However, as I said....there is always room for disagreement.

Good point, and accurate. But, getting two 3* WR's and a 4* is still behind our DLine recruiting....going by start power only, which is what some on here are going by.

You are misunderstanding me, then. Another poster said Scott had two lackluster classes before having a decent one last year. I was trying to point out that Scott was not here for the 2017 class, had a decent class for 2018 and a good class for 2019. I am nto all that concerned with Scott at this point at all. He had one year at NC, I think, then 2 classes with us...not the three class the other poster was saying.

Sorry my post was so confusing. Sometimes I can struggle with clarity.
