Don't know much about the kid and honestly didn't know we were taking another DT.

Depth?

I guess they want another body. Just seems like we mismanaged some spots earlier on to be taking this one.

In the article I read, he talks about being a center/interior OL.

Does/would this mean anything regarding Van Pran?

Very similar to what Ladd McConkey was told

I've heard/read some pretty good things about him. They may have been putting a positive spin on him, but...

He was a late bloomer that went from 265 to 305 this year. He can play interior OLine or DT, but we are looking at him for Oline primarily. He supposedly has a lot of upside and is a good student.

We'll see.

That is the first thing I thought of. This has been a weird last few days. Taking a 3 star OL and a PWO at QB with an already loaded QB room. Unless taking Muschamp gets us Burch, which I doubt.

Would be WAY out of left field to lose Jones or VP today.

I think our numbers were thin on interior OL from the 2019 and 2020 cycle. This makes sense from a numbers standpoint.

As for QB, we have a ton of WRs and we need arms to throw to them all summer and fall.

You will throw a QBs arm off if you dont get other guys back there taking reps.

I suspect that was a favor to Muschamp and nothing else. Keeps him out of his fathers shadow, and keeps him close to home with a coach that his family is friendly with, while allowing him to be on a team that could challenge for the playoffs.

It will have no ramifications with regards to Burch. We are not getting Burch.

ETA
As for Kinnie...I suspect he will be a backup center. We will put VanPran out there at center as soon as possible, because Webb wants to play guard. If Webb moves to guard, then Van Pran will mvoe to center and Kinnie will back up at center and guard.

It will affect Trey hill sooner. Either they are thinking of moving Hill back to guard or they think he will leave early to the NFL.

Or young Jackson wants to be a QB coach some day and Will thinks there's a better OC in Athens or Huntley

Possible flip from Ole Miss. I'm not sure how Kinnie might affect it, though. Americus has said several times we will take more than we thought, but we don't know if that means 24 or 25...or how many. If we take 25 then Branch is a very real possibility.

This has me worried that we will get a bad surprise today.

We’ve been recruiting Kinnie since December. I think this has more to do with adding quality depth on a depleted OL, both on the field and in the classroom.
