quote:Odd. He just played a full 2019 season at UF already. Weird he would show up as a UGA 2020 transfer.
Brenton. Transferred in the fall so he shows up in the 247 portal for a 2020 transfer.
ETA: I take that back, he didn't "play" as he had to sit out a season, but he was enrolled at UF for all of 2019.

Are there rumors of Reese transferring?
That would suck. He is a stud and will be a very good hybrid something one day

I'm a little uncertain about Zeus' ability to be the bell cow.
I had my concerns, too...before the bowl game. I get that one game does not show what can happen over an entire year, but Zamir looked like he got stronger as the game went along. He was absolutely punishing the defense.
His quickness and acceleration looked good, and even his vision. It did look as if he preferred running over people rather than around, and that does not always help durability. I loved watching him in that bowl game, though.

Zamir in my opinion just has no patience in his running style. He hits the hole and try’s to blast through instead of waiting on his blocks. He’s a tough kid that can normally initiate contact and still get those tough yards. He’s so damn explosive but you never see him cutback or look for better lanes which may come with time. I love his aggressive style but one he learns to be patient he has the explosiveness to be great.

If I missed this on the board my apologies - I saw where we offered Ennis Rakestraw (no mention of what cycle he is in) at CB. Any word on this character?
Don't know anything about him. He is a low 3* rated CB. Small. I would be surprised if we took him. He is something like 6" 165LBS. 3* .8233
Current 2020 class.
I can't imagine him being a serious option, but who knows?

This was Zeus' first season playing after his injuries. If I recall correctly, Chubb wasn't like himself his first season back after his ACL tear. I'm hopeful that Zeus will put in the work this off-season and come out stronger and quicker next season.

My thoughts exactly. There are times you want to run through a defensive player and times you want to go around them. I think we are all going to be very happy we have him......but I think we all already are.

Can’t we actually all see in the portal?
Only coaches can see it. When entering the teleportation apparatus, players can choose whether they can be contacted, or if they'll reach out to schools themselves.
Btw- Black says he has two years of eligibility left.

Zamir was used as a battering ram this year and he knew it. I’m excited to see what the young man can do with a full offseason of work and full confidence in his knee stability. Between him, Milton, and McIntosh I think we will have some tough runners next year (Sorry Cook, you have a lot to prove)

Got ya. And looks like you kids were right about Reese.

He completely shut down a bunch of big name WR's in the 6A Texas state playoffs, like 5* Demond Demas, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Quenton Johnston. And then almost immediately got offers from Miami, UGA, Bama, USCe, Arkansas, Texas, TCU, and Baylor.
Unfortunately, it looks like Miami is his leading choice at the moment, but he's contemplating where to go for his last couple official visits. If we can get him on campus I think we can pull him.

Yep. RS Jr with two years of eligibility. Has been hampered by foot injury and lost on depth chart behind Nico Collins among others. Not sure I understand it but I trust the staff.

Don't we have to find space for 5 more?
Posted on 1/7/20 at 2:14 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
Would guess 3-5 as of today

Please not Adam Anderson. Such a stud. Hate to lose Reese but tough size to make work

Is this an 85 roster spot management thing?
Or Reese doing his own interest?

Just a general comment -- I am not sure this transfer portal thing - combined with the NCAA's more generous (but still arbitrary) granting of waivers - is a good thing.
It's pretty much like college football suddenly has a free agency season. Now any kid who doesn't feel like waiting his turn and developing at the program to which he committed can find some other place with opportunity for more immediate playing time. That might be good for some of these kids on a case by case basis, but I'm not sure it's best for all of them. It's certainly not best for the college game as a whole.
What's next? NFL Minor League teams that will allow kids to bypass college football altogether?
