I don’t much care for LSU fans coming to wag their finger at how fans can be when it comes to defending the alma mater but I’ll also admit it’s hilarious that anyone would even try to deflect as to saying a HS coach was out to sabotage

I mean i know some HS coaches in GA who would absolutely pull some shite like this if they knew they would win anyway, just so they can brag about how principled they are later on. No idea if that’s what this was but I’m just saying it does happen.

Obviously rules are rules. Understood.

It just seems like an ego thing. Suspend a kid for the last game if his HS career and the state championship for having a cell phone.

You start another kid and keep him out for a quarter. What he did was grandstanding and designed to get attention.

Don’t think he’s really talking shite at all.

Feel like he’s actually contributing to the conversation in a way that’s respectful. You can disagree with his point, but I don’t see any other issues here.

Y'all are way too sensitive, or maybe you just don't know whitefoot. He's okay.

He has as much right to voice his opinion as anybody else on this board....the only time we should have a problem with him is if he starts to talk down about Georgia on our board.

But it is dumb to expect him to fall in line lockstep with some of your opinions when half of us don't even agree with them.

In the greater scheme of things, not giving up a cell phone seems like a minor thing. If I am a collge coach, I am not too worried about that aspect of it. however, I would be concerned with his seeming inability to follow rules.

If I am a coach I might have the same rule. Give up your cell phones. I don't want you up all night texting girlfriends and friends or playing games on your phone. I want you resting and getting a good nights sleep.

Typically there are reasons for even the most mundane rules that has nothing to do with the coaches ego.

Not meaning to put your opinion down so much as give you another perspective.

I read an article a few days back that said when his coach called him out about being selfish and not giving up the phone Evans began to argue and it led to an altercation and that is when he was suspended. I don’t have the article to link but that is what I read. If that happened it would explain some of this with all of the violence things we read with atheists.

I don't think Evans is an atheist.

What are you talking about? What violence things are you reading with (about?) atheists and how does it relate to Evans?

Atheist is meant to be athletes. It’s an autocorrect mistake.

Got it. Just saw the explanation about atheists being autocorrected from athlete. makes sense, now. I was thrown for a minute, though, I have to admit.

I assume he meant athlete but from this point forward I will be referring to Evans as the atheist

I think a part of the problem with some athletes today could be traced back to a generational thing, though. When I played you did what the coach told you to do without questioning. If he told you to give up the phone...you gave up the phone. Kids today question authority in a heartbeat and are given a lot more latitude. When a coach gets on to them, they argue and a clash comes.

It can lead to conflicts with atheists, too.
