Ringo and Washington have both tweeted out hints that they signed today.
I don't understand how silent signings would be allowed. It doesn't seem appropriate for players to sign without making it obvious, so that other teams won't waste their time continuing to recruit some kid who's already taken.

It’s nobody’s business but the kids if they make their decision public. Schools only make it public because the kid says it’s fine. No coach is going to continue recruiting Ringo or Washington now that they’ve signed but they’re also not going to spoil their announcements either. Both guys know where they want to go, they’re just making it public so they can use a tv platform to do so

How is it not obvious to coaching staffs? Either they got the fax or they didnt.
Am I misunderstanding your point?

The staffs know but the general public doesn’t.

Are we only taking one RB this year?

When did kirby say that?

I’ll be very surprised if we see any meaningful changes to the offensive staff or overall philosophy.
I would love to be wrong, but NOTHING in Kirby’s tenure so far suggests that he is willing to do what needs to be done to make our offense competent.

That just a clever way of saying nothing is going to change. If he was going to make a change, he would have already done it.

Oh! Jahmyr. Thought we were long out of that one. I'd love to pick him up. Like him much better than Tank personally. But my thoughts on Tank are no secret at this point.
I personally like Tank as a RB....but that's okay. I really like Gibbs, too, and honestly, I am not sure which I like better. I like them both. I hope we are in it for Gibbs, and wouldn't mind Daijon Edwards, either. I think both could be very good backs. However, looking at next year, there are two RBs I like there, too, soo....

Kirby fired Tracy Rocker in his first year. A proven DL coach. Sure, a Richt left over but don't tell me Kirby doesn't make changes.

But Rocker wasn't his buddy and a guy he promoted, as Coley is.
When you compare Odgeron's hiring of Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady with the weak hiring Smart made with Coley, it is obvious how far apart the two programs are in terms of head coaching savvy.
Kirby has now made two very poor decisions: 1) Fields over Fromm and 2) Coley
The only cause for hope is that he's only 43 and may still be capable of learning from mistakes. But look at the offenses of all the playoff teams...

Fwiw, I wanted Wren. But getting Burton is worth the trade off.

Look, I am going to agree to disagree on the Fields shite, we have had enough of that. I will give you Coley.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about kids who sign but don't announce that they've signed. If there's no announcement, then coaches would continue recruiting them because they wouldn't know they've signed.

Maybe. There's been discussion, this year and last, of players signing during ESD but not announcing that fact until some all star game. My point is that if players do sign during ESD, then they should have to tell other teams that they've already signed. Maybe they do, I've just never seen anybody acknowledge that's how it works.
Posted on 12/18/19 at 8:22 pm to wdhalgren
They would tell all of the teams that are recruiting them that they signed and ask them to keep it on the down low. And these schools are probably going to oblige because it would be a bad look to ruin one of these kids announcement planned for one of the all-star games.

Over on reddit the Oregon fans are feeling awfully cocky about Ringo and Washington

That's not gonna end well for them.
But.... tell them it will. Tis the season.
