Maybe... Much like we've said before... don't let Nolan Smith get you riled up on Twitter in a negative way. Same goes here in a positive way. If it happens... great... but I wouldn't hold my breath on Sanders just yet.

We really need one more DL,

Probably not going to happen. There really aren't guys that we're "in it" with and we're already taking Travon Walker, Bill Norton, Zion Logue, and Walthour will be joining us from Juco. Looking good for some 2020 guys as well right now, so not worth stressing over. That's a good haul for 19.

Nakobe Dean

Do. Want. Stud addition. Subtraction by addition from Bama's roster as well. They need ILB talent and would be great to prevent them from getting who they want.

Jadon Haselwood,

I think we're in a good place, but he's a little mercurial to say the least right now it would seem. If we miss, it's not the end of the world, just given our typical offensive approach, but he's a HUGE add if we can get him.

corner and a stud safety.

These a little more up in the air with the Tucker departure. I still think we land Stevenson... Elam less confident. Also haven't heard anything about Cross lately.

Dean is the biggest fish in the sea right now. The two best recruiting programs in college football want him, but moreso need his skill set because it is a rare area both teams could use more depth.

If we could get him, that would be such a massive win.

That would certainly be a change to his expected plans. As it stands, he has been thought to not just sign early, but enroll early. Haven't seen that come from anyone other than Mississippi team fans... We shall see I guess.

yeah. from what i understand, the reason he eliminated Stanford was because they don't allow early enrollees, or something?

Dean is the most need for me out of all recruits. We need a stud ILB...he fits the bill to a T

Exactly. Closing on him not only secures a position of need but tanks a position of need for Alabama. There isn't a recruit in this class at ILB that is equivalent. If we miss, we're fortunate in that we should still keep Trezman Marshall and we have guys on campus who look to be growing into the position outside of Rice (Tindall, Walker, and even Adam Anderson saw some time at ILB...). If we land Dean as well, just a huge whiff for Alabama where they need nearly immediate contribution... Though they do have 2 top 200 ILBs committed, Dean is an exceptional player.

Honest question...how many DL do you guys want to take? We already have a good sized and quality group. Can’t just sign 10 defensive tackles...

We already have 3 big bodied DT's committed for 2020. all have a chance to be weighing 295 or bigger by the time they get on campus.

Nope. that is a guy trying to think of the very best possible scenario.. You are talking about Illinois. Here are all the guys he mentioned:
Marquez Beason - Commit 5*
Isaiah WIlliams - Commit 5*
Shammond Cooper - Illini Lean 4*
Camilo Eifler - Joined 4*
Jeff Thomas - Transfer 4*
Kalhil Tate - Transfer 5*
Luke Ford - Transfer 4*

Most probably won't be transferring and if they were, they would not be going to Illinois.
Don't overthink this.

That reeks of a guy desperate for something to break a bad programs way and Ford is a local kid who got out of dodge.

Smacks of the same desperation we would show over guys like Aubrey Solomon going to Michigan in hopes that he’d get homesick and transfer back

Ford likely gets a lot of PT next year but this year he was buried behind the best TE we have had in years. Now, If Nauta stays then that could change.

I tend to believe it will be Woerner and Ford if Nauta leaves. Ford isn't going anywhere. (I don't think )

Him leaving makes next to zero sense unless he’s homesick.

If he transfers, he’d have to sit out a year anyways.

But back to recruiting. Dallas, wake up for 3500.

ETA: Long dawg, you’re definitely missing Walthour and Tymon Mitchell
