I wonder how that works for medical treatment. We have a vested interest in making sure he gets the best possible treatment - but don't really have a say at this point right?
Since he's not a student or enrollee we can't provide anything in this regard because it would be a violation. Right?
We sure don't want them messing with him in Laurinburg
Good question. You can't delay surgery until January... but I'm sure our team would love to have some input.

Used to call on some Laurinberg orthos. We don't want them doing his surgery. Haha. I would guess he probably goes over to Duke to get it done.

This is a good sign. IIRC, Gurley had a similar tear in November and was playing at full speed in the NFL the next season.

Walking off the field and not having lingering pain is a good indicator. Can't make a definitive call with out an MRI, but usually that means there is a good chance it's an isolated ACL tear with out significant meniscus damage or collateral ligament injury.
If true, it means they can do the surgery sooner, get him weight bearing earlier, and be a little more aggressive in rehab.

I tore mine and kept practicing.
It turned out to be a full tear with meniscus tears as well.
Some joints are just fit so well that both a sideline diagnosis and orthopedic pulling and tugging diagnosis are wrong. The MRI shows everything, though.

Surgery is typically delayed for about a month to allow any swelling to go down, which would at least get him close to the early signing period. It will be a minimum of 8–9 months after surgery before he’s allowed to participate in full contact. The amount of time needed is not just for rebuilding the strength of his leg but to allow the new ligament enough time to grow back into the bone. My son tore his ACL this past February.

I've had three ACLs done, recovery time improved each time. Each time it was a full year before I would trust myself to make cuts etc, so I get what people are saying about it being a full 12 month recovery to get back to "normal".
Isn't it amazing that Garrison Hearst played without an ACL.. dude must have had massive muscle strength around his knees to make up for that

Did you wear a knee brace to be able to cut around the coffee and dinner tables for the TV-TO beer runs to the fridge?

In better news it looks like we convinced Nadab Joseph to cancel his announcement today
I don't think this got enough attention because of the Zeus injury but this is definitely good news

We have two WR's committed, both under 6' tall.
I thought we were trying to get taller and more physical at this position.

I think due to 2019's recruiting haul in Haselwood and Blaylock (#1 and #2 WR in the country), this year is pointed more toward guys that will fill the slot position (with IMac gone, and Godwin gone after next season assuming he stays which is likely).
We do have a target recruit in Alontae Taylor who is 6'2" and rated as an ATH, plays both WR and Safety I believe... Last year's haul included 4-5 WR/ATH recruits I think that were 6'2 or higher IIRC, though 2 of them may be more likely to spend time at DB (Webb and Bishop). Landers (6'5"?) has had a good year on the scout team, haven't actually heard as much about Holloman and Blount (6'2" each I believe).

Blount must be a good blocker. I’ve seen him multiple times locked up on a DB on big run plays

Anybody committed at aTm that we might want to look at snagging? You know, since Coach Swagcopter is fired Sunday, win or lose against LSU?

I just find it odd that a firing is announced ahead of time.

It wasn't announced, it was leaked. All the same, it's still shitty.

Most significant recruiting implication for us would be improving the odds of landing Isaac Taylor-Stuart.
